I felt the need to share this incredible truth…
I have always had a good understanding of the difference between negative and positive thinking. This is nothing to brag about since almost everyone on this earth can do the same.
In knowing this difference, I have been shown that it is a matter of focus. We all know what positive and negative thinking are, but we often get caught up on letting circumstances control us, and when we face obstacles, our thoughts tend to dwell on the negative.
One of my favorite Bible verses is Philippians 4:8. It says to think about things that are true, noble, right, pure, and lovely. What does that mean exactly? I am reading an excellent book by Henry Thomas Hamblin called, “Dynamic Thought”. In one section, the author breaks down examples of positive and negative thinking. Since we’re talking about focusing our thoughts, I will share this list with you…
Thoughts are positive if they dwell upon the following: Success, achievement, accomplishment, overcoming, conquering, mastering, prosperity, power, courage, calmness, dignity, perseverance, purposefulness, patience, wisdom, faithfulness, confidence, faith, hope, cheerfulness, love, joy, peace, health and happiness.
Thoughts are negative if they dwell upon the following: Failure, difficulty, bad luck, hard lines, I can’t, fear, dread, grief, worry, care, anxiety, loss, fate unfaithfulness, grievances, criticizing others, imputing bad motives to others, hate, envy, covetousness, brooding, lust, impurity immorality, selfishness, sensuality, misery, unhappiness, disease, ill-health and death.
I can’t explain it any better than that. The author goes on to suggest that you focus on each of these positive words individually. Start with success. Wrap your mind around the idea of success and meditate on it for several minutes. Then visualize yourself succeeding. Do the same for each of the other words until they become an automatic part of your thinking. When it’s an automatic part of your thinking, it becomes an automatic part of your doing. That’s when great things begin to happen in your life. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

This million dollar info is priceless. I felt the need to share because it has already helped me. I hope it inspires you too 🙂
The above question is an interesting and relevant one. If I provided all of the reasons why positive thinking is beneficial and necessary, I would use all of the space this website allows.
In addition to maintaining positive thoughts, action is also necessary if you want to accomplish your goals. I am realizing more and more that the action you take is in exact correlation to the thoughts we think. In other words, the formula is simple…the higher quality thoughts you think, the higher quality your actions will be.
I believe in keeping things simple on this site, and I believe you can’t get much more simple than that. It may seem overly simple, in fact. Yet how many times do we let the negative thoughts take over and wonder why we aren’t seeing results?
I challenge myself and my wonderful readers to focus within today. Maintain the highest quality thoughts you possibly can. Feel the highest corresponding emotions. Visualize the success you crave. Then determine what needs to be done and take the steps to do it. The more you focus on the positive thoughts, the more those steps will be giant and productive. Allow this basic formula to produce amazing results. Enjoy the blessings 🙂
“Nurture your mind with great thoughts, for you will never go higher than you think” – Benjamin Desraeli
Are you looking to take yourself to a higher level? The above quote is yet another reminder that increasing the quality of your life begins with increasing the quality of your thoughts. It’s unbelievable what a simple concept this is. Yet why do so many fail to do it?
There are two reasons people struggle to maintain positive thoughts. One is that they allow the negatives to take precedence. Two is simply a matter of not taking the time to do it. Knowing that increasing the quality of your thoughts enhances the quality of your life, why would you not take the time to do it? It’s a question I finally got around to asking myself in recent years. I have realized that we need to spend quality time each day deliberately increasing the quality of our thoughts.
I recommend your remain focused on the opening quote. How high and how positive can you allow yourself to think? Realize that whatever level that is, God can not only take you to that level, but He will one up you. Ephesians 3:20 in the Bible says that God will provide immeasurably more than you can ever think or ask. So why not consistently imagine the most beautiful, ideal thoughts that you can possibly think of?
The key to a high quality, joyful life is to spend time nurturing the garden of your mind. Pull out any negative weeds, then plant and water seeds of positivity, love, and success. Eventually they will grow to heights above and beyond what you could have ever imagined. Enjoy the blessings 🙂
I was reading a report from Esther Hicks. If you don’t know who she is, Esther in my opinion, is one of the greatest speakers and authors about manifesting our goals and desires.
The report was about the power of visualization to convince the subconscious mind that our desire can become reality. I’ve been visualizing for years, and it’s truly a great experience. However, many people don’t take the time to do this. I have even gone long periods where I fail to practice visualization.
The question is…if visualization is so powerful and effective, who don’t people do it all the time? There are several reasons, but I believe the main one is that people think they have to spend a huge amount of time doing it…time that they don’t have much of.
If that’s you, I have some good news. According to Esther Hicks, you can make effective changes by visualizing for only 68 seconds at a time. That’s right. Only a minute or so. I don’t know where she came up with 68 seconds. However, I do know that she has helped me and thousands of others reach their goals. I’ll listen to whatever suggestions she provides. I also decided to try this and see if this was enough time. Sure enough, I found that visualizing for even this short amount of time was a big help.
I find this to be excellent news. Like many, I don’t have as much time as I would like to visualize the success I crave. However, 68 seconds can be spent anywhere, such as a grocery line, waiting at a traffic light, in between tasks, you name it. Obviously, the more time you can spend visualizing, the better. However, even just a minute or two is better than not at all. In addtion, it is enough time to improve your frame of mind and provide the necessary confidence to take the steps to accomplishing your goals.
I suggest you try this exercise. Next time you get even the shortest break, spend just over a minute visualizing the successful completion of your goal and feel the corresponding positive emotions. I guarantee you will bring yourself closer to its reality. Enjoy the blessings : )
One of my favorite and most helpful authors is Dr. Robert Anthony. His advice on how to utilize the power of the mind has been a great help to me and many others in bringing life to a higher level.
I am on Dr. Anthony’s mailing list, and I regularly receive gems of information from him. This is one of the best yet, and I wanted to share it with you. Here’s to your success : )
I wanted to take a moment to say Happy New Year to you and yours…
Are ready for a great New Year?
To help you get off to a running start I would like you to consider changing
your perception of WHAT SUCCESS MEANS TO YOU!
As I mature and have a better understanding of how things work, I have
come to understand that HOW WE MEASURE SUCCESS will determine our
happiness, or lack of it.
We tend to MEASURE SUCCESS in relation to achieving our goals. In other
words, we set a goal and if we achieve it, we are happy and satisfied. If we
don’t, we feel like a failure. This creates anxiety, fear and sometimes even depression.
You will never be happy or satisfied if you keep focusing on what you DON’T HAVE,
or what you have NOT ACHIEVED.
Instead, consider this…
The way to MEASURE SUCCESS, and still be happy and satisfied, is to look at
WHERE YOU HAVE COME FROM.
In other words, LOOK BACK and notice how you have IMPROVED in any area of your
life – even if it is a VERY SMALL improvement.
If you LOOK BACK and celebrate your INCREMENTAL IMPROVEMENTS, the next
steps become so much easier, because you are happy and satisfied right now.
So, if you did not achieve everything you wanted last year, when you finish reading this,
take a look at the INCREMENTAL IMPROVEMENTS you have made and give yourself
a pat on the back. Make a short list and then give yourself some credit instead of focusing
on what went wrong or did not happen.
Seriously. I mean it. MAKE THAT LIST. I’m watching you!
Start this New Year with the feeling that you have already started to make some incremental
improvements and that you are ready for more. NEVER, I repeat NEVER, judge yourself.
Give yourself credit for what you have accomplished – no matter how small those accomplishments
This will get you off to great start this year because you will START OFF with a sense of
ACCOMPLISHMENT instead of a sense of failure – which is never useful. If you build on your
incremental accomplishments you can do EVEN BETTER this year than you did last year.
Before I sign off I want to share a quote of mine with you…
“Any dream that can pass through one’s screen of logic into the Subconscious and is earnestly
desired, can be obtained”.
– Dr. Robert Anthony
Once you give up all the “logical reasons” why something cannot work for you and allow your
new dream or goal to enter your Subconscious, it’s an idea whose time has come. If you truly
desire it and your Subconscious agrees to it – it’s yours!
Cheers For a Great New Year,
Dr. Robert Anthony
