You Can Instantly Destroy Worry

November 10, 2015

I very much enjoy listening to sermons and inspirational messages from around the country. They are readily available online and I enjoy being inspired by these great speakers as often as possible.

I heard one such message yesterday from the C3 church in Orlando Florida (you can listen here for the full message) and felt the need to share as soon as possible. The message was about worry. The pastor shares how worry does absolutely nothing to help us, yet we often continue to make a habit out of it instead of focusing on God’s promises to move forward in our lives and accomplish our goals. The pastor then shares some excellent advice on how you can remove doubt by seeking God and His kingdom first, and relying on His promises to carry you through any obstacles to develop the necessary faith to accomplish God’s will for your life.

This all occurred as I am in the middle of re-reading a book I have read several times called “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle (further proof that God does things for a reason). This potentially life-changing book shares the importance of remaining focused on the present moment and “living there” as often as possible. As I heard the sermon last night, I instantly realized another excellent way to avoid worry. That is…remaining as often as possible in the present moment.

When you remain in the present moment it is impossible to worry. If you don’t believe me, I challenge you to try it. What is worry anyway? It is fear about a future event. Even if that event is only minutes away, it is still in the future. When you remain squarely focused on the present moment you have full control. There is absolutely nothing to fear in the present moment. Even if there is some crazy situation happening (like you are in the middle of a street and a car is coming at you at that moment) your instinct will take over and you will act at that moment to avoid the negative situation.

I find that when I place my full focus on the present moment, fear disappears instantly. And when I follow Jesus’s advice of seeking Him and the Kingdom first, a feeling of faith and power takes over what was once doubt and worry. It is then that I am setting myself up for blessing and miracles. The same is true for you.

Do you want to break the worry habit? If your answer is yes, simply anchor yourself in the present moment as often as possible. You can pray and take action yes, but even if you just spend several minutes observing and enjoying whatever is happening at that time, you are destroying the power that worry can have in your life. So why not take even just a few minutes at a time to enjoy the gift that is the present and destroy worry and its negative feelings? The more you enjoy the positive feelings that arrive as a result, the more you will want to continue this habit and reap the benefits. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

What Is It Like To Be A Human Who Is ‘Present’?

June 29, 2014

I have been making a strong effort to place my full focus on the present moment. It is one of the greatest ways we can add power and joy to our lives.

I know God is helping me because He places great information like this in my path. I share it with you in hopes you will receive the same empowerment that I have 🙂

Also ‘fully Present’ / ‘having Presence’ / ‘Being in the Present moment”/ ‘In the here and now’ / ‘in the NOW’.

What is this like? My best description is a list, as I realize it can be difficult to imagine for those who have not yet attained it, and can have little or some idea only of what all the fuss is about! 😉  It sure is the place to Be!

I have put everything I could think of that may help, some word definitions overlap, but some may trigger in some of you that others do not, so I include them. Also I include some maintenance thereof, assisting tips.  I personally like to do zero negativity also, for all the extra benefits that gives Life, the Universe and Everything!

🙂  So, to Be present is :

Being in a state of : ~-

-Joyful acceptance of…

A Creative Way to Use Your Past

March 20, 2014

I spend a great deal of time on this space discussing the importance of the present moment. I often share (as do many other people who are much smarter than me) the importance of remaining focused on the now and not allowing the past to hold us back.

I have also shared before that our past is not completely useless. We can certainly use it as a guide. Instead of letting past mistakes hold us back by creating feelings of guilt or fear, we can learn from them and avoid making the same ones again. However, I was reminded recently that we can actually focus on other parts of our past. Just as we have made mistakes and done things incorrectly, we also have successes and triumphs that we can learn from. We don’t want to live off them and stop growing, but reflecting on these times of success can be very helpful.

It was suggested to spend time in the present moment thinking of a time in your past when you felt great about a successful achievement or about a satisfying event in your life. Relish the joy and the positive feelings all over again. Keep focused on it until it overtakes your entire being. When you do this, you are creating positive feelings NOW, even though this is something that happened before. When you maintain these positive feelings and increase your energy, it opens the door for more of the same. You are thus setting yourself up for blessings. According to the Law of Attraction, you create your future by what you think now.

I am learning more each day how maintaining a positive energy and high vibration as some say can make you a magnet for attracting your desires. I recommend you especially focus on a particular desire you have. Use this technique to go back to a time in your life where you had what you are seeking. For example, if you are seeking greater joy and happiness these days, go back to a time or event that brought you joy. Feel that joy all over again. If you are seeking a new relationship, think back to a time when  you were in a fulfilling relationship. If you’ve never had one before, think of a time where you felt the rush of someone attractive looking at you, smiling at you, or giving you any kind of attention.

The ideas are endless, but the concept is the same. You can use past events NOW to increase your positive energy and emotional state. It will increase your faith and confidence and lead you to take the steps to bring your desires to you. You don’t have to take a long time to do this, and I guarantee you will find it very powerful and very uplifting. Try it, and please let me know how it works for you. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

Inspirational Affirmation – I Am Present

December 18, 2013

I am a firm believer in the use of positive affirmations to make effective changes in life. I have been using them regularly for several years, and I have seen dramatic changes in my confidence and attitude as a result.

Based on some ideas I have been reading lately, I began using an affirmation that is extremely powerful. It goes like this…”I am present”. It’s very easy to remember, and has a positive and powerful effect for two reasons.

One component helps maintain focus on the present moment. I have read so much lately of the power of the present moment and putting all of our energies there. Focusing on the present is extremely peaceful and powerful because we are not wasting energy dwelling on the past, and we are not holding back because of worry for the future. This affirmation is helpful in maintaining that present moment focus.

Another concept I’ve run into a lot lately (I know it’s because God is purposely revealing it to me) is the power of I Am. In the Bible, God is referred to as I Am on several occasions. I am learning that when we say “I am” about anything, we are essentially referring to the “I Am” that is part of us. Being conscious of that fact has added a great deal of peace and power to my life in the past few months that I have encountered this. This affirmation is a great reminder of the excellent “I Am” power that is part of my being.

I am sure that someone else has already used this same affirmation in the same way. However, my discovery of it has empowered me immensely, and I now share it with you. As many times through the days as you can, focus on those words…I am present. As you do, be thankful and engage completely in the present moment. Then focus on the next part and feel the comfort of the “I Am” that is all around you and a part of you.

I guarantee that meditating on this affirmation will bring a sense of empowerment, and it will happen very quickly. I’ve only been using it for a short time. I’ve experienced its almost immediate effects, and can’t wait to experience the long term effects as I continue to meditate on these words and this powerful idea. I share it with you and look forward to hearing your success stories as well. Enjoy the blessings : )
