A 3 Letter Word to Use For Miracles

March 30, 2015

I would like you to start by thinking of a miracle you would like to see in your life. Visualize it for a minute or two. Bathe in the emotion of seeing it realized, and feel as you would when (not if) it takes place.

If only it was that easy for your miracle to occur. Well, I have good news. It is this easy, if not easier. Visualization and faith are key ingredients for your dream miracle to become reality. However, I have been reminded many times lately of another way to make it happen. When I see and hear the same idea many times in different places in a short period of time, that’s when I know God is speaking to me.

This idea I have been reminded of is the power of asking. This simple 3 letter word, ASK, is a small yet powerful key in receiving what you desire. It’s all over the Bible… Ask and it will be given to you (Matt 7:7); Whatever you ask for in prayer, believing that you already have it, will be yours (Mark 11:24); You may ask me for anything in My name and I will do it (John 14:14). If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be given to you (John 15:7).

The above verses are powerful enough, and meditating on even one or two of them consistently could be life-changing. There are plenty more where these came from. I recommend finding one that most strikes your emotional cord and making it a part of your being.

One idea that’s helped me a great deal in my personal growth is finding detailed, exact definitions for simple words. We’ve used the word ask all of our lives. We know what it means. However, I dug a bit deeper. Here are some definitions (taken from dictionary.com) of the word ASK, and then I will explain how we can apply it in our prayer life.

  • to try to get by using words; to request
  • to solicit from
  • to demand; expect
  • to call for; need; require

When you ask God for a miracle, in essence you are doing all of these. As I learn more about God, I can see how these apply. For example, when God created the world, He spoke it into existence. When Jesus calmed the storm, he spoke to the waves and demanded that they stop. When He healed people, He spoke the word and it was done.

This power of asking also lies in your hands. Know exactly what you want. Then use your words to ask God to make it happen. Know that you can expect to receive what you ask for. There are only two conditions to receiving your desire when you ask. One is that it is within God’s will. Now please don’t make the mistake many people do (and I did for a long time) with this concept. They use this concept of God’s will as a “maybe-ness” to receiving their desire, like maybe God wants to grant this or maybe He doesn’t. It’s not like that at all. It simply means that as long as your desire is part of God’s nature it is good. That means that asking for greater health, improving your relationships, and getting out of debt are all within His will. Asking to hook up with the beauty at the desk next to you (even though you’re both married) or for something that will hurt someone else are examples of something outside of God’s will that He will not answer. So unless it’s something you know is wrong, don’t be afraid to ask!

The second condition is that you give the glory to God. You can do nothing without Him. When your main focus is that God will be glorified when your miracle takes place, it will supercharge the manifestation of your desire. It’s only a matter of time until you reap the benefits.

If you have held back from asking God for miracles due to fear, lack of worthiness, or whatever reason, now is the time to realize that He wants you to ask. And when you do, He is ready and willing to bless you in ways you can’t even imagine. Use your words, call for His assistance, and expect the blessing. The see the great things God can do 🙂

Whose Desire Is It Anyway?

June 23, 2014

We all have desires and goals that we want to see realized. We do what we know how to do to make it happen, and we pray hoping that our prayer will be answered, wondering if we will see our dream come true.

I am realizing more each day that the last part is a mistake. No, not praying. That’s the best way to realize your wish. It’s the other part, hoping and wondering that it will be answered.

I realize we need to follow God’s will and not our own. I also realize that God will sometimes say no to our prayers because He has something better for us. I’ve seen this in my own life many times which is why, as frustrating as it can be to wait sometimes, I welcome God’s alternatives in my life.

They key I’ve learned in my study over the past few years is this…when I have a desire in my life that is within God’s biblical guidelines, HE IS THE ONE THAT PUT IT THERE!! I am realizing more and more that God is prompting me with these desires because He wants to use them for His glory in my life. It is the spiritual part of me trying to express itself through this individual.

For example, my dream is to have the freedom of working my own schedule, and making hundreds of thousands of dollars by impacting thousands of people a day. There is no part of this that is outside of God’s guidelines. He doesn’t want me working crazy hours being away from friends and family like I sometimes am now. He wants me to enjoy abundance and freedom with my finances, and craves the opportunity to use this human creation to bring Him glory. I know it is Him that has influenced me with this desire.

So what do I do now? Get out of the way and allow it to happen. Since the desire is from God, I know He wants it to be realized as much as I do. So I do my part by remaining in prayer and paying attention for opportunities I can act on. The rest is up to Him to make it happen. It’s as simple as that.

Are you in the same situation today? Do you have this burning desire for changes and great things in your life? I recommend you focus on them and realize that they are coming from God. Also realize that He wants them to take place as much as you do, and if you let Him, He will make it happen. It’s up to you to pray and seek opportunities to act. Then just let Him do His will through you and let the miracles take place.

You can stop your dreams and desires from being realized. You can do this by thinking negatively, doubting, or trying to do everything on your own. However, you cannot stop God from realizing His desires. And when you make your desires His (which they are already anyway), and let Him do His glorious work, it’s only a matter of time before those intentions come true.

So what’s your wish? Pray and make it known to God, thank Him for giving it to you, and let Him make it happen. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

Is Vibration Biblical?

April 29, 2014

I have been living the Christian life for over 25 years. As a result, I rely on the Bible for practical guidance on how to live my life and to answer any moral questions that arise. During the past five years, I have also done an extensive study on the power of the mind, positive thinking, and the Law of Attraction.

Every once in awhile certain ideas come up within some topics, especially regarding Law of Attraction, that I question. However, the more I study, the more I realize these concepts are indeed Biblical.

One topic that I’ve focused on lately is the area of vibration. What exactly is vibration? Basically, it is one’s level of positive energy and emotional state. It is said that when you have a high level of vibration, you are more likely to attract positive situations and people into your life. The highest vibrations are feelings of love, joy, peace, and gratitude.

As I looked into this further and studied ways to increase my own vibration, I felt the need to discern this message and confirm that this is a direction I should be moving in, so I prayed for God’s guidance. The great thing is that when you ask God for answers, He is always willing to provide them. After a very short time, I received an affirmative answer with one of my favorite Bible verses. It’s one of the shortest, yet powerful messages in the entire Bible. The verse is I Thessalonians 5:16-18 and it says…Be joyful always. Pray continually. Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for your life.

How does this verse prove the power of vibration? It consists of the very elements that keep our vibration high. When we pray, we are in direct communication with God. When we are love, joy, and gratitude, we are operating at our highest level. As an added element, we are empowering ourselves by following God’s will according to the last part of the verse.

There are many skeptical Christians in the world when it comes to the Law of Attraction and some of its concepts. I mention it to some and I am accused of falling for New Age heresy, living in a name it and claim it and prosperity gospel. Being a Christian myself I still have some of this left inside of me. It’s ok to question things. That’s how we learn the truth. However, once again I have learned the Biblical connection to one of these life-changing concepts. I reflect on examples in my own life how great things happened when I was loving, happy, and thankful. I see that God wants me to be this way as often as possible. When I am at this high vibrational state, He will bless me and use me to bless others. And as far as the other doubts are concerned, my view of name it and claim it is called faith, and the Gospel is a key to living a prosperous, full life.

Now that you know God’s word instructs us to live in love, joy, and gratitude, keep yourself at these levels of thinking and feeling as much as possible. You will see a dramatic increase in positive events and opportunities in your life, which will only make you even more happy and thankful. You will love the results 🙂

The Ease And Keys Of Rapid Manifestation

An Unnecessary Qualifier To a Faithful Concept

April 12, 2014

There are plenty of very inspirational Bible verses that we can use to enhance our lives. However, they are often interfered with by some unnecessary ideas that prevent miracles from taking place.

To clarify what I am talking about, I will share the verse that reminded me of this today. It is from Matthew 21:22 and it says “if you believe, you will receive anything you ask for in prayer”. The verse is very powerful. Simply believe and you can have the wonderful life you are craving. Sounds great, right?

The problem is that there are two groups of people who distort this. I will explain, but before I do, please understand I am not being harsh on these groups. That’s because I’ve been in both places at one point, and I can certainly relate. First, there are those whose eyes light up when they see the “anything” part of it, and use this as a reason to utilize God as a genie to bring “stuff” into their lives for their own pleasure. The second group consists of those skeptical and paranoid people who see anything as receiving blessing in life as being automatically associated with a prosperity gospel, and name it and claim it mentality. I can say I never felt this way, and you may not either. The problem is that in the past I enable these people to make me believe I was wrong to ask God for great things. As a result, I held back and didn’t ask.

In recent times I have simply learned to take this verse for what it is…a wonderful, faithful promise from God. It’s a fact that God wants to bless you, and a promise that He will. Here’s a thought that will eliminate both of the negatives from above. If your requests are in line with God’s will, they will be granted. And I will say that God’s will is a very broad spectrum. The things that are outside of His will are those that are either for purely selfish motives, or those that will hurt others. If it doesn’t fit into those categories, it’s part of His will. Sometimes His will is that your answer is delayed, or that you receive something better instead. However, know that if your desire is within His guidelines and commandments, there is no reason not to ask.

Here’s an example of a touchy topic. Many people are afraid to pray for more money because of the taboo (love of money is evil, you’re being greedy, God wants you to be poor, etc.) associated with it. Can a prayer for money be outside of God’s will? Yes, if you are asking in order to flaunt it, be selfish with it, or plan to gain it by doing something illegal or immoral. However, that’s it. If you are asking for it to improve the quality of your life and share it with others so they can do the same, you are perfectly in line with the will of God. In fact, living a life of poverty and debt is much more outside of the will of God than being prosperous.

After saying all this, I encourage you to read this verse again in it’s proper light. Pray to God in confidence, knowing that He hears your prayers and cherishes the opportunity to answer them. Instead of adding the unnecessary qualifiers, boldly ask God in faith for your greatest desires to be fulfilled. Envision it coming to pass, and do your simple part of believing. He will take care of the rest in ways you can’t even imagine. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

Forced Into Perspective

January 23, 2014

So how is your new year so far? I hope things are going according to your intentions. In many ways, the year is off to a great start for me. However, there is one area that really has me thinking, yet has me very confused and shaken.

At my job we have dealt with several tragedies since the year began. One teacher is still recovering from an accident sustained while attending a football game a couple of months ago. Another on my team is grieving the sudden death of her 27 year old brother. Our head of schools is out for an extended, unknown reason. Our principal lost her father in law. Another teacher on my team is dealing with his father’s stroke from a couple of days ago, though luckily it seems like it was nothing more than a major scare. The final (hopefully) axe was dropped yesterday. We were all called to a meeting to learn that a married couple of teachers in our school unexpectedly lost their 1 year old daughter.

As our assistant principal pointed out, “we are being tested”. Since I have been in major prayer mode all year, I don’t know why these things are happening, but I later dropped to my knees and asked God to release the Satanic hold on our school. I am confident that He will.

My faith is at the strongest point it has ever been. Still, as mentioned, I am confused and shaken. As I reflected on this and asked God for assistance on how to put it together, I was forced to put my life in serious perspective. Although you never know when something tragic can happen, I quickly realized that I have never had to deal with any of these types of situations. At that moment I thanked Him for the health and protection of my family.

Life has been very kind to me, and although I have struggles like everyone else, I am blessed. Still, like anyone else, I have goals to grow. There are several unfilfilled parts of my life. However, it is now in a much different perspective.

At the same time I reflected on this, I was presented with a sermon from Rick Warren about goal setting. I find it amazing that, the first of the 10 steps he provides is to consider and realize where you are now in your life and assess your current situation. I don’t know if this is exactly what he meant, but as I considered where I am, I received a flood of thankful thoughts, regardless of how some areas of life remain unfulfilled. For example, I am not satisfied with my job. However, I have one and it pays decent. I was also reminded that at one time it was my dream job realized. I desire more wealth and sometimes complain and worry due to the debt bondage I have. I was reminded though, that based on what I have, I am more wealthy than 90% of this world. I sometimes complain about lack of freedom, yet I am at least physically able to do and go whatever and wherever I please.

Sometimes it takes difficult situations to experience the necessary perspective. As I watch the people I work closely with grieve and struggle, I am certainly viewing my life in a different perspective now. It’s amazing how this feeling of extreme gratitude has provided peace for me during this difficult time. As I plan my goals according to this message I heard (you can hear it at rickwarren.org), I realize that where I am is not so bad after all. I challenge you to do the same. Please don’t stop pursuing your goals, and make constant attempts to learn and grow. However, I recommend you assess where you are. Hopefully you will see that, even though you may not be exactly where you want to be, you have come a long way. Hopefully you will see that the road to your goal is not as long as you may have thought. I always say it…when you are thankful for the small things you have now, you are provided bigger reasons to be thankful and you receive greater blessings. That’s my prayer for you today 🙂

What Are YOU Going To Do?

January 21, 2014

There’s a reason I read devotionals on a regular basis. It’s because I often pick up gems of excellent inspiration from them. I was reading one from Charles Stanley today. I was very much inspired, and I now share it with you.

In the entry it mentions that when we encounter difficult situations, we ask the wrong question. We tend to ask, “what can I do to make it better?” However, Dr. Stanley provides an excellent alternative. Here is his suggestion… “In a spirit of faith, instead ask ‘God what are YOU going to do?'”

What an empowering reminder that is! God regularly invites us to cast our cares upon Him and ask for assistance. Why not take Him up on it?

I recommend you take hold of this mindset during difficult times. Or take it as you pray about your greatest wishes being fulfilled. Yes, we have to do something. However, if you first prayerfully ask God to do his part, your steps will be much more simple and productive.

I remind you again. Ask God…”what are you going to do today?” Faithfully put the situation in His hands and enjoy the corresponding peace and power you experience. Please share your successes. Have an excellent day 🙂

Why Would I Not?

January 16, 2014

Why would I not pray to the God who created me and the entire universe, has control of absolutely everything, and is ready and willing to provide abundantly?

Why would I not remain completely focused on the fact that God’s all-powerful and all-knowing spirit is the main part of my being, when I am promised that if I seek Him first I receive everything else?

Why would I not spend the time visualizing the success I crave, when I have read hundreds of books on the topic that ALL tell me how powerful this process is?

Why would I not tell myself the things I need to hear, knowing that positive affirmations are effective and powerful in changing my beliefs and increasing my faith?

Why would I not be eternally grateful for the blessings I have received in life, knowing that the more thankful I am, the greater blessings that will show up?

Why would I not serve and give to others, knowing that everything I give returns to me tenfold?

Why would I not take the actions necessary to reach my goal when I know God has not only set them up for me, but has set me up for success?

I can keep this list going with many other similar questions. I share these because these questions came to mind this morning. I know that I can’t even imagine the level my life would reach if I simply followed these actions. Yet I still often remove my focus from these areas and dwell on what I don’t have, my current struggles, and doubts that stop me from moving foward. I have grown signifcantly and am very thankful for how far I’ve come, but it still happens too much for my liking.

I share this because I know many other people have the same difficulty. When I thought about this and prayed about it this morning, I realized once again that I have full control of the quality of my life. I realized that I should only be focusing on those ideas mentioned above, and I pledge to keep my focus there. I share this as an inpiration to take as many people with me as I can. Why would I not?

Have an awesome day 🙂

How To Replace Worry With Power

December 27, 2013

It’s easy to worry, isn’t it? For many human beings, it is unfortunately a natural state of mind. For me, I do it a lot less these days, but I’d be lying if I said worrisome thoughts don’t still cross my mind sometimes. Still, I wish someone would have taught me some valuable lessons about worry a long time ago.

The truth is, someone did teach me about the energy drainer that worry is. In fact, He told me many times. His name is Jesus, and His wonderful words are scattered throughout the New Testament of the Bible. I’ve read His words about avoiding worry and anxiety many times. They’ve certainly helped, and I’ve shared them here and with others. However, I still gloss over them and forget them at times when difficult situations arrive.

I recently read one of my favorite Bible verses in a different light, and it really woke me up to the meaning and true power of these words. The verse is from Philippians 4:6-7. I’ve read and shared them often. You’ve probably heard it…be anxious for nothing, but present your requests to God and you will feel His peace. However, I read The Message translation of this verse, and it awakened me to a similar but new meaning that I will certainly take with me into the new year. It goes like this… “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together  for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life”.

These are powerful words indeed. The part that stands out for me is the part about turning worry into prayer. Prayer is power! When you go from worrying to praying, you are adding God’s power to the situation. You may not have a solution or the ability to do what it takes, but He does. When you go from worry to prayer, you are humbling yourself to God and allowing His power to take over the situation. No wonder the result is God’s great peace. Isn’t it a great relief when you free yourself from  worrying about a difficult or uncomfortable situation, and knowing that God has full control of it?

You can free yourself from worry right now. As soon as a worrisome thought or situation enters your mind, immediately pray about it. I can tell you from experience that you will receive an immediate peace. In addition, you will feel empowered, not being held down by worry’s burden, and knowing that God’s power will help resolve the situation as it should be. Enjoy the blessings : )

How Can I Use Mind Power For Rapid Manifestation?

November 6, 2013

We all have our goals, don’t we? Hopefully, you answered yes to that question. I know from experience that not only do we want our goals and wishes realized, but we want them now. Or at least as quickly as possible.

What are the quickest ways to get there? For years I have learned that, through the power of your mind and the power of God, you can go anywhere you want to go. Prayer is certainly a helpful option, and the two ideas I’ve been told consistently are affirmations and creative visualization. I have shared several posts about each, and I can certainly tell you that they are very effective.

In case you don’t know, I will provide the crash course here. Affirmations are positive words and phrases you say to yourself over and over again. Creative visualization is using your imagination and playing pictures in your mind of you being the person you want to be and experiencing the life you want to experience. They work well because they affect the subconscious mind, which is the part of your brain makes you the person that you are.

In the past, I have done these two things separately. I would spend some time stating affirmations, then later times visualizing. However, I have recently discovered an even more effective way to use these tools to manifest my goals even faster. I have found that an effective key is to use affirmations and visualization together at the same time.

I will say that I am certainly not a multi-tasker, which is one reason it’s taken me this long to realize the power of this. However, it’s not difficult to do, and if I can do it so can you. Keep your affirmations simple. I have said simple statements, like wealth, God-power, love, joy, etc. Then at the same time, I picture a visual representation. For example, if I say wealth, I spend some time visualizing money. Then I eventually see myself enjoying the benefits of having this wealth and living my life as if I have the exact amount I am looking for. It has a very powerful effect. If you know the Law of Attraction, you know that powerful, positive focus and feelings can only bring you what you are seeking rapidly.

Another reason this is effective is because it doesn’t allow the subconscious to question it. Often times when people do affirmations, the mind doesn’t believe it because it has been so negatively conditioned. For example, you can affirm “I am wealthy”, but it is not effective. This is because your mind is then responding, “No I’m not!”. By just saying wealth or power or whatever you are seeking, there is no resistance. Then when you picture it, you start to believe it. That is because your subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between a real or imagined event. Once it is convinced of something, it believes it as truth. That’s how your beliefs are formed, and then you act accordingly.

I have experienced unbelievable confidence and power in my life since I began affirming and visualizing at the same time. I can see and feel my faith increasing, and I am knowing that it’s only a matter of time before some long-awaited goals are reached. The same can be true for you. Affirm great things in your life that you want. Then immediately see it happening in your mind through visual representations and seeing and feeling yourself experience it. You too will be more confident and willing to make your goals happen. Enjoy the blessings : )

A Law of Attraction Reminder From A Runny Nose

October 14, 2013

Funny thing (or not so) happened in church on Sunday. I’ve battled a nasty cold all week, and felt significantly better that day. As a result, I was able to enjoy my renewed energy there that morning. However, as the pastor asked us to bow our heads and close our eyes, the remnants of my cold kicked in. It’s kind of gross, but I’ll share anyway. My nose starts to run. I mean, like it’s running away. And I don’t have a tissue.

The last thing I’m thinking about is the pastor’s prayer. I’m thinking…what am I going to do about this? OK, I admit it. The thought did cross my mind. Everyone’s eyes are closed and heads are bowed. No one would know if I used my sleeve. However, I knew God was watching. I didn’t want to gross Him out : )

What next? Well after a few semi-helpful and not so obvious sniffles to keep things at bay temporarily….Two things…one is I began praying. Maybe not what everyone else was, but I prayed for help, and that the pastor would hurry up and finish! Two, I kept thinking about tissues and how I could get one. My daughter was next to me so I would ask her. If not, I would just have to wait and make a mad dash to the restroom and hope that the runny nose wasn’t as obvious as it seemed.

Finally the pastor finished and we were able to lift our heads. I’m still focusing on tissues and asked my daughter immediately. She looked but had none. Now what?? She was smart enough to ask a friend. She had what seemed like a 10 pound bag. However, it had everything but tissues.

So now we are asked to stand. My daughter made me feel a bit better when she said it was not obvious that my nose was running. However, I still needed a tissue and just peacefully waited until the final blessing. As we were asked to stand, a big smile appears on my face. I am now reminded that, during many of these powerful services, people are moved to tears. There are tissue boxes all over the church! I look to the alter (only two rows away) and several full boxes are right there. The final blessing is given, and I make a mad dash to the alter, and….GOAL ACCOMPLISHED!!

This may seem like a crazy example, but it further proves the point of the Law of Attraction, and that when we focus our thoughts on something, it comes to pass. In this example, I first prayed for help. Then I visualized the end result. I did not visualize the messy potential. Of course it crossed my mind, but my primary thoughts were on what I wanted…the positive solution of finding the tissues to solve my problem and make me happy.

This is a small example, but it shows that for even something as insignificant as a runny nose things can work out for my best by maintaining the right thoughts. It can work for you in far greater situations too by following this same process. Pray for guidance. Then focus on what you want. Avoid focusing on the negative or the obstacles. Instead, focus on the solution and the realized goal. When you stay focused on that, you will automatically be led to take action. For example, as I focused on the solution of finding the tissues, I was reminded that many tissues are available throughout the church. It was just my job to go get it when the opportunity presented itself.

OK, have I shared enough personal details for one post? You can think of me if this ever happens to you. Seriously, I was reminded of the correspondence of this event to the Law of Attraction, and felt the need to share it with you. I certainly hope my nearly embarrassing situation can help you. Have an awesome day : )
