Logical Affirmation

September 9, 2013

For some reason I had a mental flashback to my freshman year of college. I was brought back to a logic class that I loved and hated at the same time.

In honor of that, I will share an affirmation based on one of those logic formulas:

A. All things are possible to those who believe

B. I believe

C. Therefore, All things are possible for me

Does this sound logical to you? If so, affirm this several times through the day. You will see a noticeable increase in your faith and confidence. Try it!

Enjoy the blessings : )

Subliminal Success

January 4, 2013

I have recently become intrigued by the concept of subliminal videos. If you are not familiar with subliminal videos, they are videos which show hidden messages. Usually they are positive affirmations that quickly flash on the screen before you can read them or even see them. Some of these messages are also embedded into an audio format, such as ocean waves, thunderstorms, or a fire.

What is the purpose of subliminal videos and audios? And do they work? The purpose of subliminal affirmations is to positively affect the subconscious mind by repeating positive messages over and over again. You may ask, “can’t this be done by self-talk or just reading these messages? Yes, but the problem is this…in many cases your subconscious is so full of negative messages that, when it sees something positive, it doesn’t believe it. For example, suppose you are fully convinced that you are not intelligent. If someone were to tell you that you’re smart, you may think something like, “yeah right”. You don’t believe it, and it doesn’t get through to the subconscious. That’s where subliminal messages are helpful. The positive messages come through and are not stopped by negative thinking. Instead, the positive messages get through to the subconscious. When the subconscious hears and sees something enough, the negative thoughts that embedded are replaced with the positive thoughts you want to have. Eventually, you begin to act on those positive thoughts.

Do subliminal messages work? I am one who believes they do. However, in order to be effective, you need to watch and listen on a regular basis. Once is not enough. Subliminal videos and audios work best when watched on a daily basis for weeks at a time. That allows the positive messages to displace the negative ideas buried deep in the subconscious.

There are many subliminal videos that are available, depending on the area of your life you are trying to change. I choose one in particular to share here  for several reasons. This one is only 8 minutes long, so it doesn’t take a great deal of time. It also provides positive messages about several topics, such as wealth, sales, confidence, and positive thinking. The video messages are subliminal. The audio is not, but it provides very helpful information to back up the visual  messages. I strongly suggest you give it a try. Please let me know what you think. Have an excellent day!

Affirm Belief

December 9, 2012

All things are possible to him who believes – Mark 9:23

The above quote is easily one of my favorites in the Bible. It also comes from one of my favorite stories in the New Testament. A man asks Jesus to heal his son “if he can”. Jesus questions him..”if I can”? like..are you kidding me? Don’t you know I can do anything?

As much as I enjoy the above story, there are many times where it hits me right between the eyes. There are many times where I pray “if you can” prayers. There are other times where I lack the faith needed to make all things possible.

A question I’ve often asked and you may be asking right now is..how do I change this? How do I develop the belief necessary to make all things possible? I have found that there are two main ways..

  1. Ask – Simply ask God for it. This has always been a bit ironic for me. I’m supposed to ask God for things with the faith that He’ll do it. So how can I actually ask Him for faith? Sounds weird, but He is ready and willing to help us increase our faith. In the story above, after Jesus rebukes the man’s “if you can” statement and says all things are possible, the man asks Him for this very faith to make all things possible. In the next verse he specifically asks, “please help me overcome my unbelief!”
  2. Positive affirmations – Besides divine help, I am convinced God has given us the will and ability to help ourselves. I also believe he expects us to use it. One way I’ve learned to do this is by positive affirmations. I often discuss the benefits of positive affirmations on this blog. If you don’t already know, they are simple positive statements you say to yourself over and over until you begin to believe it. These statements can be extremely simple. For example, in his book “The Power of Positive Thinking”, Norman Vincent Peale says the best way to stop worrying and have faith is to simply say to yourself, “I believe” over and over and over again. If you think it doesn’t work, then try it. I have used this technique many times in stressful situations, and in some cases it’s as if the stress magically disappears. Other simple phrases work just as well, especially other Bible verses like the one I began this article with.

The bottom line is that the more your brain hears these statements, you feel the corresponding emotion, and take inspired action, you believe it. These thoughts then become part of you and your being. These thoughts replace the thoughts of worry and unbelief. What happens next is that it affects the action you take. In fact, if you let unbelief linger you often take no action because you are afraid of failure. When your mind is full of faithful thoughts, you instead are convinced of success and will take the action quickly to make it happen.

If you want the results you are seeking in life, affirm belief and faith. Say it and see it in your mind. Then watch it unfold on the big screen of your life. The coolest thing is that, once you see these positive results, it only increases your level of belief, and more great things happen. Believe me, I can totally affirm that this is true. Enjoy the blessings : )

Uncomfortable Success

November 5, 2012

Ah, the comfort zone. Everyone craves it. It’s just the way we are wired. There are not many things better than comfortably enjoying the goodness of life. Everything is better when we are comfortable, right?

Be careful before you answer that question. I agree that I would much rather be comfortable than not. The potential problem is that sometimes people become too comfortable. As a result, they don’t try new things, take risks, or seek new challenges. As a result, life becomes stagnant, and people don’t progress as far as they would like.

You may ask…how do I change this? After all, it is difficult to come out of my comfort zone. This is true. It is sometimes very dificult. Why is that? It’s because of the set-up of our subconscious mind. Your subconscious tries to set things up so that you reach and live in that comfort zone. This comfort zone is the truth that you have come to know. Your subconscious doesn’t like when something goes against this truth. Sometimes this truth is that you can only handle the job that you currently have, no matter how difficult it is or how much you dislike it. Sometimes this truth is that you cannot be a positive partner in a relationship. Sometimes this truth is that you cannot reach the weight you are seeking. Or that you can only a reach a certain level of income. Or…this list can go on and on.

So how does one defeat this cycle and change the truth? It’s a matter of telling your subconscious a different story to create a new truth. There are three main ways to do this. One is by positive affirmations. Tell yourself a new truth. Tell yourself that you can and will reach your goals. Second, is to visualize the success you are craving. It’s amazing that your subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between a real or imagined event. The more it sees the positive pictures you create, the more it believes it as being true. Third and most important is to take action. You need to do things that are outside of your comfort zone. As mentioned, this is difficult at first. However, the more you do it, the easier it becomes. For me, I always had difficulty speaking in front of crowds. I didn’t think I was an effective speaker. However, because of my college major of Communications and the radio field I wished to enter, I was forced to speak in front of people on a regular basis. As I did it, it became easier. I actually began to enjoy it. I spent several years in radio. Now, I confidently speak in front of students everyday as a teacher. I always loved to write. However, it was usually just for me. The prospect of blogging caught my attention, but I held back because I doubted that anyone would be interested in what I would have to say. Still, I came away from the comfort zone. Now I am lucky enough to receive positive responses from hundreds of readers on various blog sites. It would have never happened if I would not have stepped away from the comfort zone.

I have recently been challenged, and I relay this challenge to you. Every day, do at least one thing (or even more) that is outside of your comfort zone. Anything from trying a new food, a new outfit, a new sport/activity, or doing something that you’ve been holding back on for a long time. This type of action on a regular basis will take you steps ahead of where you are now. Your subconscious will ultimately find and create those new truths that you are seeking. You will reach your goals faster, and create success in all areas of your life.

The bottom line is this…It is ok to enjoy comfort and the good things in life. However, you cannot avoid straying from that comfort zone that has been created. Take some chances and seek new challenges. You can and will meet them, and your life will be taken to a higher level. That’s something you can be very comfortable with. Enjoy the blessings : )

10 Positive Ways To Start Your Day

April 8, 2012

There are few things more important in life’s events than getting off to a good start. This especially true for each day we live. In most cases, the better the day starts, the better it ends up.

It would be nice if we had control of the start of our day, wouldn’t it? I am here to tell you that we do have full control over how we start our day. We can deliberately think positive thoughts and take postive actions to ensure that our days go smoothly.

One effective way to start our day is by using positive affirmations. That is, repeating positive phrases to ourselves. This is effective because it sets a positive tone for the day. It also engrains positive messages into the subconscious, resulting in greater confidence and positivity.

I recently read an article called, “10 Positive Declarations You Should Whisper to Yourself Each Morning”. Here are the 10 suggested declarations:

  1. I love my life.
  2. My thoughts create my reality.
  3. I am grateful.
  4. I choose to be happy.
  5. Smile
  6. I am worthy.
  7. The opinions of others don’t matter
  8. I am kind.
  9. I live in this moment.
  10. Breathe deeply.

These affirmations may seem simple, but they can have a powerful impact. Not only are they effective at the beginning of the day, but they can also be used throughout the day to help maintain a positive frame of mind. I strongly suggest you try and use them. I have included the link to the entire article. Enjoy the blessings : )

4 Great Ways To Conquer Procrastination

March 4, 2012

There are many people, including myself, that struggle to avoid procrastination. Each time we put things off we feel guilty and upset with ourselves for not accomplishing the ambitious goals we’ve set.

I recently watched a video from Nelson Berry with an excellent 4 step formula to help avoid procrastination. The 4 steps are:

  1. Determine your best time for getting things done. It’s funny that I’m not a morning person, yet I get most of my best work done early. Find your best time and focus on getting most of your work done at that time.
  2. Don’t over estimate yourself or under estimate the task. Sometimes we disillusion ourselves which frustrates us, causing us to put the task off.
  3. Avoid multi-tasking. When we put all of our focus on one task at a time, we are more likely to get it done, and get it done well.
  4. Get the subconscious to cooperate. When we see success in our minds and repeat positive affirmations to ourselves, our subconscious mind actually guides us to success.

I believe these steps are very helpful in avoiding procrastination and moving closer to acheiving our goals. For more details about these steps, check out the full video here….

Positive Affirmations List

February 26, 2012

I have often shared about the importance of positive affirmations. In case you are not familiar, positive affirmations are words or phrases we repeat to ourselves to positively impact our subconscious mind. When your subconscious mind is bombarded with positive messages, it believes them. The result is an extreme faith upon the individual that they can change a negative habit, become a better person, and that any goal can be successfully accomplished.

There is much helpful information about using positive affirmations to take our lives to a higher level. I have found an excellent blog article that includes many positive affirmations for different areas of life. These affirmations have helped me, and I felt the need to share with my readers. Enjoy the blessings : )
