A Faithful Way to Bring Great Results

June 24, 2020

In my study of the power of the mind, I have read many great books. There are some that I have re-read several times. One I am re-reading now is “The Power of the Subconscious Mind” by Joseph Murphy. If you haven’t read this book, and you are seeking powerful new knowledge about the power of your mind, I strongly suggest getting a hold of this book.

As I was reading the book today, an excellent reminder stood out that I feel compelled to share. It is the concept of faith. I’ve shared often about the importance of faith, and that once your faith is strong enough, any necessary action automatically follows. I’ve also shared (and so have millions of others including Jesus) how God acts on our behalf when we have faith. The author of this book provides a very simple but powerful definition of faith. He says, “faith is accepting as true what your senses and reason deny, i.e shutting out of the little, rational, analytical, conscious mind and embracing an attitude of complete reliance on the inner power of your subconscious mind.”(p. 67). I don’t have the necessary time to review the differences between the conscious and subconscious minds, but the basic one is this… your conscious mind is your thinking and logical mind, and it is limited. Your subconscious is the part of the mind where all of your beliefs and memories are stored. It is also connected to the “mind of Christ” we are told we all have as part of us (I Corinthians 2:16). This part of our mind is unlimited.

It is the subconscious mind that enables us and leads us to manifest our desires. Our job is to make sure the subconscious believes this manifestation is possible. For once it does, it is only a matter of time before your dream is realized. One of the most powerful ways to do this is another Bible verse the author mentions in the same chapter. It’s one I share on a regular basis on this site. In fact, it’s my favorite verse in the Bible… Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours(Mark 11:24). In whatever manner you can, your greatest responsibility is to see your wish as already done. See it as already here now. See it as totally accomplished. Act as if you already have what you are seeking. When you do these things, several great things happen. First, you are having that faith that the author says is accepting as true what your senses and reason deny. Also, the Bible verse clearly states that if you believe that you have received it it will be yours!!

I understand this is sometimes easier said than done. The subconscious mind is not easily convinced of new beliefs, especially if you have had the same old negative beliefs for a long time. It may take some time, but it is possible and your beliefs will change if you are persistent. I will say this though…once your subconscious beliefs are changed, you will see the corresponding situations manifest on the outside. There are several ways I have learned to do this:

  1. Visualization. This is the easiest and most fun way to see and experience your wish as an accomplished fact. In your mind, you see yourself living your dream. You feel the corresponding emotions. You see what you want to see and do. This is powerful because the subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between a real and imagined event. As you visualize, your subconscious mind believes this is actually happening. It begins to believe its truth, thus increasing your level of faith. Remember, the Bible also says “according to your faith, it will be done for you.” (Matthew 9:29). And you are believing that you are receiving it. And you will!
  2. Positive Affirmations. Instead of using images to change your subconscious mind, with affirmations you use words. Most of your current beliefs have been developed by words, either things others told you or you told yourself. With positive affirmations, you are doing this purposely.
  3. Hypnosis. Sometimes, it is difficult to maintain the necessary focus to get the maximum effects from visualization. And sometimes your mind fights back with your current beliefs when you try to change them with affirmations. When you use hypnosis, you are putting yourself in a deeply relaxed state. More importantly, you are shutting out your conscious mind and all of its rational beliefs based only on your senses. Instead, it leaves your subconscious mind open to suggestion without fighting it. In a hypnotic state, you are much more able to change those subconscious beliefs. Once that happens, you start living out the new beliefs, the ones you want to see happen.

I realize I am not providing a wealth of detailed information on these topics. I have written about each one in far more detail in other articles and books. You can click on the links I have provided here and check out my book links on this webpage as well for more detailed info about them.

The bottom line is that, in order to change your outer circumstances, you must first change your inner circumstances. When your subconscious mind believes something to be true, then it is, and you will soon experience its truth. Remember to accept your wish as true, even though your senses and logical mind deny it. Believe in your mind that you already have what you desire, and act accordingly. Act with the gratitude and joy you would have if you actually experienced it with our senses. That is true faith. God promises that it is yours if you believe it. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

A Positive Affirmation About Self-Talk

November 14, 2017

If you’ve read this blog or my books, you know that one of the most significant topics I discuss is using positive affirmations to enhance the quality of your life. If you are not familiar, positive affirmations are positive phrases, messages, or scripture verses you repeat to yourself over and over again. The purpose is that, if your mind hears it enough times, it begins to believe it. For more information about using positive affirmations, I recommend these articles…How to Make Your Affirmations Believable and 7 Excellent Positive Affirmation Tips  , along with my free book…The Ease and Keys of Rapid Manifestation.

I learned about using positive affirmations from many inspirational authors. These are people who have changed many lives and empowered many people. What’s exciting to me, is that I recently found information in the Bible that encourages the use of affirmations and self-talk. Psalm 1:2 says that the blessed man delights on the Law (Word) of the Lord and meditates on it day and night.

I researched this information a bit further. I found that the original Hebrew translation says that the blessed man “soliloquizes” on the Word day and night. When I looked up the definition of soliloquy (say that 5 times fast), it is defined as “an utterance or discourse by a person who is talking to himself or herself or is disregardful of or oblivious to any hearers present (often used as a device in drama to disclose a character’s innermost thoughts” (taken from Dictionary.com).

In essence, this is what we do when we use positive affirmations. I fully trust the individuals who I learned the idea of positive affirmations from. However, I was encouraged to know that God Himself in His Word recommends using positive self-talk and repetition of His faithful promises to keep our minds pure and empowered, thus enhancing our lives and of the people around us.

So go ahead…it’s OK to talk to yourself. I promise I won’t call you crazy, especially because I do it all the time. Of course, you may not want to do it in front of other people, and you need to keep the affirmations positive. Focus on God’s Word, or simply repeat what your intention is. Once your mind starts to believe it, you take positive actions, which bring positive results. Once again, I invite you… talk to yourself and tell yourself great things. God encourages it. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

How to Make Your Affirmations Believable

July 27, 2015

Positive Affirmations pic

I have written often about the power of affirmations. If you are not familiar, positive affirmations are simply words and phrases you repeat to yourself to change your beliefs about something. For example, if you are trying to gain confidence, you can repeat an affirmation such as… I am confident in every situation, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, etc.

Affirmations can be a very powerful tool in creating the beliefs you need to be successful. The problem is that sometimes they can create resistance in the mind, which creates more harm than good. For example, you affirm… I am extremely wealthy. Then your mind takes you immediately to your almost empty bank account. A voice inside your head says…wealthy? Who are you kidding? You are far from wealthy! Then instead of feeling positive, you actually experience negative thoughts and feelings which pull you further away from your goals.

I have written other articles about this (check out How to Avoid the Negative Effects of Positive Affirmations ) which explain how to get around these negative experiences and get the most out of using positive affirmations. I would like to share another excellent piece of advice about this I learned while reading an excellent book called “Law of Attraction: The Science of Attracting More of What You Want” by Michael Losier. He suggests using the phrase “I am in the process of…”. When you use this phrase there is no room for negative disagreements to creep up. You are stating a fact. For example, if you are struggling with your weight, using an affirmation “I am at my ideal weight” may create some resistance as you look in the mirror and see the body that you don’t desire. However, if you say “I am in the process of reaching my ideal weight”, you are not saying anything that is not true. Your mind cannot disagree with the fact that you are in this process. In addition, you are placing your focus on your ideal weight. And according to the Law of Attraction, you manifest what you place your focus on.

This is a great help to me, and I share it in hopes it impacts you positively as well. I suggest repeating your affirmations several times a day, using the phrase “I am in the process of” to qualify it. You will find that you can focus on your desire with optimism that you are on your way to manifesting it instead of doubting as you feel you are lying about your present situation. It will help you maintain the positive feelings that speed up the process even more. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

Why Your Affirmations Won’t Work

January 13, 2015

I am a firm believer in the power of using affirmations to make positive changes in my life. In case you don’t know, affirmations are words and phrases you use and repeat to impact the subconscious mind. The key is that as your beliefs change, you take the necessary actions to make the changes happen.

The problem is that sometimes positive affirmations can do more harm than good. I have had people tell me that affirmations have made things worse for them. It has happened for me too.

So why should I continue to use positive affirmations? I recently wrote an article for an ezine about the topic. I share the link with you here….

How to Avoid the Negative Effects of Positive Affirmations

I certainly hope this helps you use positive affirmations to take those steps towards reaching your goals. I invite you to share with us what works for you. Enjoy your blessings today 🙂

A Simple Affirmation That Will Awaken Your Power

August 11, 2014

There are two words that, when used together, immediately impact the person they are targeted to. I am referring to the simple command…WAKE UP!

You’ve probably experienced the power of these words in two ways. If you needed to wake someone from sleep or perhaps needed to motivate someone for an attitude adjustment, you commanded them to WAKE UP! You’ve also most likely been the person who was sleeping or needed the motivation. In that case, when someone commanded you to WAKE UP!, it most likely got you moving in some way.

In addition to trying to wake someone or being awoken yourself, chances are you may have used this command for yourself. Have you ever told yourself to WAKE UP? If you are like me you probably have. A few days ago I discovered the true power this statement could have in motivating myself. I was going through a bit of an un-energetic funk and wasn’t succeeding with certain tasks. Besides that I was just sluggish and unmotivated. Finally, I became so frustrated that I simply shouted to myself (mentally because I was in public) WAKE UP! I shouted it again. And again. Before long, I felt a surge of energy going through me. The mediocrity I was experiencing was no longer good enough as I awoke myself to my true potential to succeed. All sluggishness disappeared, and I put my full energy into the task. Things went much better from there.

This experience helped me realize I could use this short and powerful affirmation at any time. I began using it even when I wasn’t struggling, and I have been since. I find it especially empowering. Just as the wake-up command can get you moving quickly out of a deep sleep, it can also get you moving with a surge of energy in your daily life.

I encourage you to try this, especially if you are lacking energy or motivation. If you are alone you can shout it out. If not, you can do it in your head. Either way, affirming that you WAKE UP! can significantly increase your energy and power. It may seem weird to do, but if you don’t believe me I suggest you try it. You will be surprised by the results. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

Inspirational Affirmation – I Am Present

December 18, 2013

I am a firm believer in the use of positive affirmations to make effective changes in life. I have been using them regularly for several years, and I have seen dramatic changes in my confidence and attitude as a result.

Based on some ideas I have been reading lately, I began using an affirmation that is extremely powerful. It goes like this…”I am present”. It’s very easy to remember, and has a positive and powerful effect for two reasons.

One component helps maintain focus on the present moment. I have read so much lately of the power of the present moment and putting all of our energies there. Focusing on the present is extremely peaceful and powerful because we are not wasting energy dwelling on the past, and we are not holding back because of worry for the future. This affirmation is helpful in maintaining that present moment focus.

Another concept I’ve run into a lot lately (I know it’s because God is purposely revealing it to me) is the power of I Am. In the Bible, God is referred to as I Am on several occasions. I am learning that when we say “I am” about anything, we are essentially referring to the “I Am” that is part of us. Being conscious of that fact has added a great deal of peace and power to my life in the past few months that I have encountered this. This affirmation is a great reminder of the excellent “I Am” power that is part of my being.

I am sure that someone else has already used this same affirmation in the same way. However, my discovery of it has empowered me immensely, and I now share it with you. As many times through the days as you can, focus on those words…I am present. As you do, be thankful and engage completely in the present moment. Then focus on the next part and feel the comfort of the “I Am” that is all around you and a part of you.

I guarantee that meditating on this affirmation will bring a sense of empowerment, and it will happen very quickly. I’ve only been using it for a short time. I’ve experienced its almost immediate effects, and can’t wait to experience the long term effects as I continue to meditate on these words and this powerful idea. I share it with you and look forward to hearing your success stories as well. Enjoy the blessings : )

How Can I Use Mind Power For Rapid Manifestation?

November 6, 2013

We all have our goals, don’t we? Hopefully, you answered yes to that question. I know from experience that not only do we want our goals and wishes realized, but we want them now. Or at least as quickly as possible.

What are the quickest ways to get there? For years I have learned that, through the power of your mind and the power of God, you can go anywhere you want to go. Prayer is certainly a helpful option, and the two ideas I’ve been told consistently are affirmations and creative visualization. I have shared several posts about each, and I can certainly tell you that they are very effective.

In case you don’t know, I will provide the crash course here. Affirmations are positive words and phrases you say to yourself over and over again. Creative visualization is using your imagination and playing pictures in your mind of you being the person you want to be and experiencing the life you want to experience. They work well because they affect the subconscious mind, which is the part of your brain makes you the person that you are.

In the past, I have done these two things separately. I would spend some time stating affirmations, then later times visualizing. However, I have recently discovered an even more effective way to use these tools to manifest my goals even faster. I have found that an effective key is to use affirmations and visualization together at the same time.

I will say that I am certainly not a multi-tasker, which is one reason it’s taken me this long to realize the power of this. However, it’s not difficult to do, and if I can do it so can you. Keep your affirmations simple. I have said simple statements, like wealth, God-power, love, joy, etc. Then at the same time, I picture a visual representation. For example, if I say wealth, I spend some time visualizing money. Then I eventually see myself enjoying the benefits of having this wealth and living my life as if I have the exact amount I am looking for. It has a very powerful effect. If you know the Law of Attraction, you know that powerful, positive focus and feelings can only bring you what you are seeking rapidly.

Another reason this is effective is because it doesn’t allow the subconscious to question it. Often times when people do affirmations, the mind doesn’t believe it because it has been so negatively conditioned. For example, you can affirm “I am wealthy”, but it is not effective. This is because your mind is then responding, “No I’m not!”. By just saying wealth or power or whatever you are seeking, there is no resistance. Then when you picture it, you start to believe it. That is because your subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between a real or imagined event. Once it is convinced of something, it believes it as truth. That’s how your beliefs are formed, and then you act accordingly.

I have experienced unbelievable confidence and power in my life since I began affirming and visualizing at the same time. I can see and feel my faith increasing, and I am knowing that it’s only a matter of time before some long-awaited goals are reached. The same can be true for you. Affirm great things in your life that you want. Then immediately see it happening in your mind through visual representations and seeing and feeling yourself experience it. You too will be more confident and willing to make your goals happen. Enjoy the blessings : )

More Inspirational Logic

September 10, 2013

I swear I’ve returned to the Fall of 1984. If you read my previous post you will see that I had a sudden flashback to a logic class I took in my freshman year of college. I shared a logic affirmation that worked well, so I decided to try another one that inspired me this morning from Matthew 7…

A. Ask and it will be given to you.

B. I am asking

C. Therefore, it will be given to me.

It’s as simple as that. Affirm this and watch how your emotions rise to the top of the positive scale.

This can be done with any verse or saying that you like. Choose your favorite and affirm the logical equation throughout the day. It works wonders.

Enjoy the blessings : )

Logical Affirmation

September 9, 2013

For some reason I had a mental flashback to my freshman year of college. I was brought back to a logic class that I loved and hated at the same time.

In honor of that, I will share an affirmation based on one of those logic formulas:

A. All things are possible to those who believe

B. I believe

C. Therefore, All things are possible for me

Does this sound logical to you? If so, affirm this several times through the day. You will see a noticeable increase in your faith and confidence. Try it!

Enjoy the blessings : )

Subliminal Success

January 4, 2013

I have recently become intrigued by the concept of subliminal videos. If you are not familiar with subliminal videos, they are videos which show hidden messages. Usually they are positive affirmations that quickly flash on the screen before you can read them or even see them. Some of these messages are also embedded into an audio format, such as ocean waves, thunderstorms, or a fire.

What is the purpose of subliminal videos and audios? And do they work? The purpose of subliminal affirmations is to positively affect the subconscious mind by repeating positive messages over and over again. You may ask, “can’t this be done by self-talk or just reading these messages? Yes, but the problem is this…in many cases your subconscious is so full of negative messages that, when it sees something positive, it doesn’t believe it. For example, suppose you are fully convinced that you are not intelligent. If someone were to tell you that you’re smart, you may think something like, “yeah right”. You don’t believe it, and it doesn’t get through to the subconscious. That’s where subliminal messages are helpful. The positive messages come through and are not stopped by negative thinking. Instead, the positive messages get through to the subconscious. When the subconscious hears and sees something enough, the negative thoughts that embedded are replaced with the positive thoughts you want to have. Eventually, you begin to act on those positive thoughts.

Do subliminal messages work? I am one who believes they do. However, in order to be effective, you need to watch and listen on a regular basis. Once is not enough. Subliminal videos and audios work best when watched on a daily basis for weeks at a time. That allows the positive messages to displace the negative ideas buried deep in the subconscious.

There are many subliminal videos that are available, depending on the area of your life you are trying to change. I choose one in particular to share here  for several reasons. This one is only 8 minutes long, so it doesn’t take a great deal of time. It also provides positive messages about several topics, such as wealth, sales, confidence, and positive thinking. The video messages are subliminal. The audio is not, but it provides very helpful information to back up the visual  messages. I strongly suggest you give it a try. Please let me know what you think. Have an excellent day!
