A Sick Reminder of Who I Really Am

February 26, 2019

I have been a practicing Christian for over 30 years. I have also been a student of the Law of Attraction (which I believe works hand in hand with Christianity) for the past ten. Even with those long time frames, I still receive reminders that I am not applying the power of each in my life as much as I could. Here is a recent example…

Over the past weekend, I was battling a sickness, a mini flu bug. On Sunday, it was a major project just to get off the couch or out of bed. I didn’t eat much, so I was further weakened because of that. I missed a fun family gathering, but passed the day watching a Nascar race, and just enjoying a peaceful day.

Monday would be my first day back to work after a week vacation. We are discouraged from taking the first day off after a vacation, so since we were experiencing a windstorm in the Buffalo area of almost hurricane force all day and night (an unusual event in our city) I thought maybe the school I work at would close and I would get another day to recover. I actually found out Sunday night that the wish was granted, and an immediate peace came over me as I would indeed get another day to recover without having to call in.

The problem was that when I woke up early Monday morning, I felt just as bad if not worse than I felt the day before. It was then where I realized that a lot of this sickness had to do with my thinking. Sure, I know sometimes God allows us to become sick for reasons only known to Him. And I thought maybe this was one of those times. However, as I lay there, I still decided to get my mind thinking correctly and aligning it to who I really am. You see, who I really am (and who you really are) is a being that shares the spirit of God. The kingdom of heaven is in our midst, which after looking up a true definition of midst, I learned that it means our essence or very being. Another Bible verse says in HIm we live and move and have our being.

I was reminded that the Spirit that I am a part of is perfect and whole. It is never sick, and in fact does not even know sickness. At that moment, I said a prayer asking that I would be led to keep my mind focused completely on who I really am. As I lay in bed and did this, an almost immediate peace took over. I fell asleep for about two hours. When I woke up, I felt wonderful! Sure, I was still stuffy and coughing and had some lingering effects of the sickness. However, I easily got out of bed, made some breakfast, and did my morning routine as if it was a Saturday (even though it was a Monday). I took the day slow, but felt better and better throughout.

Did I heal myself? No, God did. However, I am willing to take some credit for the time frame in which it happened, and I thank God for answering my prayer. I prayed that I would keep my mind focused on who I really am instead of focusing on the sickness. Remember, a key idea of the Law of Attraction is that the thoughts and ideas you focus on are the outcomes that manifest in your life. As that prayer was answered, and I kept my mind focused correctly, I believe the healing happened faster than it would have otherwise.

I thank God for this excellent reminder, and I share it willingly with anyone patient enough to have read this far. Remember who you really are and who you really belong to. God is with you in every moment, and you are with Him every moment. And when you keep your mind focused on this truth and the truth of whatever it is you are looking to get through or accomplish, you are much more likely to see it come into being. Enjoy that blessing 🙂

A Different Question to Ask to Manifest Your Desires

January 14, 2019

If you are somewhat familiar with the Law of Attraction and manifesting your desires, you most likely have learned the right question to ask and the ones not to ask. For example, we are told to ask and answer the question “what”? What is it exactly that we want to manifest? We are told to not ask the question “how”? When we focus on how our desire is going to manifest, we lose focus, begin to doubt, and drastically slow the process of manifesting our desire.

As I’ve studied this topic further, I been advised to consider a different question. That question is “why”? Why do we want what we want? It’s a great question to ask. I say that because it keeps us focused on the real reasons we want what we want. If you want a million dollars, why? It’s probably because you would have the freedom to do what you want whenever you want. If you want to lose 20 lbs., why? It’s most likely because of how good you would feel physically, and the mental satisfaction of the positive looks and compliments you would receive. You want a significant other in your life, why? Because of the feelings of fulfillment and companionship.

Whatever it is you truly desire, there are reasons you have that desire. There are certain positive feelings it would bring if you had it. When you focus on why you want what you want, you bring those feelings to the front of your mind. You then increase your overall vibration to a positive one. If we dig deeper into the Law of Attraction, it states that we manifest what we think about, and even more so, what we feel. So here is the key…focus on the positive feelings you would have if you already had what your desire. Live in those feelings and the positive state they bring. When you do that, it brings you closer and closer to the manifestation of your desire until you actually live it for real.

Do you want to see those millions of dollars sooner? Live in that freedom now. Remember, where the spirit of the Lord is, there IS freedom! Don’t go way above your means, but perhaps find a way to do some of those things you are thinking about doing if you had more money. If you want the weight to come off faster, think positively about yourself NOW! Feel the inner beauty of your being. Buy clothes now that you would buy once the weight is off. Feel good no matter what you are doing. The same is true if you are seeking a relationship. Feel fulfilled NOW!

Whatever it is you desire, ask yourself why. Then focus on those reasons and live in them. If you do this consistently, the other questions of how and where will be answered for you, and your “when” will be sooner than later. I challenge you to try this, and I believe you will be very pleasantly surprised and rewarded. Enjoy the blessings!!

Wake Up From the Dream…And Live in Success

May 21, 2018

Last night I had a dream that I was at work. I have a good reputation there, but in the dream, I was accused of something that may have cost me my job. I knew I was completely innocent, yet I couldn’t think of the words to use to defend myself. I stressed over the interview I would soon have with my boss and colleagues. Just before the meeting began, I woke up.

I remember how relieved I was when I realized this was only a dream. The hurt of being falsely accused, and the worry of what I needed to say to keep my job was all imaginary. It was the middle of the night, but I actually went to the bathroom with a smile on my face as I realized it was just an imaginary reality.

I share this because I have been reading of a lot of “A Course in Miracles” lately. This is one of the main themes of the book. It’s that the circumstances and the past of our lives is really all a dream. It’s only as real as we make it. Any of these past events that we are remembering, we are remembering it now, in the present. The truth that we should be awake to is the presence and power of God and His spirit in our lives now. That is reality. Again, the rest, such as the circumstances, the past, and anything not having to do with God and His Spirit and power, is all a dream.

Please understand, I am not saying to completely give up thoughts about the past, or even things in life that need to be taken care of now. However, we cannot allow ourselves to be haunted by nightmares of the past. If negative things have happened, we can use them as a learning experience to help us in the present. If positive things have happened, we can reflect on them and use them to encourage and sustain us today. However, one of the greatest keys to success is to stay focused on God, His Spirit, and His power in the present moment.

How can we stay present and focused on God? One way is to reflect on the knowledge that He is in everyone and everything. When you see people and things, avoid focusing on and judging the outside appearance. Instead, reflect on the inner, Godly presence. Remember….the Bible says to “seek first the kingdom of God, and all else shall be given to you”. When you seek God in yourself and others, you are setting yourself up to receive all blessings the kingdom of God can offer! Also, I believe you are following God’s command to love your neighbor as yourself. After all, God is in others, as He is in you. When you seek God in this way, you are seeing and being His love!

Another way to stay focused on this Godly reality to is to be thankful. We receive in life what we most focus on. If you are focused on all of the good in your life, you are given more reasons to be thankful. It also keeps your mind occupied on what is real instead of the dreams our circumstances represent.

I have continued to learn and teach this fact…the quality of our circumstances is determined by the quality of our mind. If we focus on God’s truth, goodness, and love, for the most part, that’s what we will experience in our lives. If we dwell in the dream of negative circumstances and allow them to dictate the quality of our thoughts, we will only perpetuate those circumstances.

So my advice is to wake up! Anything outside of God and is will is just a dream. Like me, you can smile after you realize this, and live in an awake state, seeking God, His truth, His power, and His love in your life and the life of others. That’s what life is all about. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

An Exact Definition of Manifestation and How to Use it To Reach Your Goals

July 20, 2016

Those of you who are familiar with the Law of Attraction are familiar with the term manifestation. In fact, it’s the ultimate goal. We keep our minds focused on positive outcomes, make sure we are feeling good and keeping our vibration high so we can “manifest” our greatest desires.

The question I recently pondered and I now ask you is… what exactly is manifestation? And how does knowing the answer to this question help me? Knowing the answers to these questions can make a big difference in your life and help you “manifest” more rapidly.

I recently wrote an article called, “What Exactly is Manifesting?” which answers the questions above. I recommend you check it out to make your goals and desires a reality. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

You Can Use the Law of Attraction to Create Your Dream Job

February 8, 2016

Do you need a new job? Are you either unemployed or seeking the ideal job to produce the satisfaction and prosperity you are looking for?

I know the feeling. If you are familiar with the Law of Attraction, you know you can use it to not only find the right job for yourself, but to create anything you desire in any area of your life.

If you are looking for the ideal job, how can you use the Law of Attraction to make it happen? I received an email from personal development expert Christy Whitman. She shared a video where she explains with specific detail how to use the Law to find the ideal job. I felt the need to share this information with you. As always, I invite you to please share how this helps you 🙂

How to Make Your Affirmations Believable

July 27, 2015

Positive Affirmations pic

I have written often about the power of affirmations. If you are not familiar, positive affirmations are simply words and phrases you repeat to yourself to change your beliefs about something. For example, if you are trying to gain confidence, you can repeat an affirmation such as… I am confident in every situation, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, etc.

Affirmations can be a very powerful tool in creating the beliefs you need to be successful. The problem is that sometimes they can create resistance in the mind, which creates more harm than good. For example, you affirm.. I am extremely wealthy. Then your mind takes you immediately to your almost empty bank account. A voice inside your head says…wealthy? Who are you kidding? You are far from wealthy! Then instead of feeling positive, you actually experience negative thoughts and feelings which pull you further away from your goals.

I have written other articles about this (check out How to Avoid the Negative Effects of Positive Affirmations ) which explain how to get around these negative experiences and get the most out of using positive affirmations. I would like to share another excellent piece advice about this I learned while reading an excellent book called “Law of Attraction:The Science of Attracting More of What You Want” by Michael Losier. He suggests using the phrase “I am in the process of…”. When you use this phrase there is no room for negative disagreements to creep up. You are stating a fact. For example, if you are struggling with your weight, using an affirmation “I am at my ideal weight” may create some resistance as you look in the mirror and see the body that you don’t desire. However, if you say “I am in the process of reaching my ideal weight”, you are not saying anything that is not true. Your mind cannot disagree with the fact that you are in this process. In addition, you are placing your focus on your ideal weight. And according to the Law of Attraction, you manifest what you place your focus on.

This is a great help to me, and I share it in hopes it impacts you positively as well. I suggest repeating your affirmations several times a day, using the phrase “I am in the process of” to qualify it. You will find that you can focus on your desire with optimism that you are on your way to manifesting it instead of doubting as you feel you are lying about your present situation. It will help you maintain the positive feelings that speed up the process even more. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

The Most Simple Formula Success is Right Here

July 20, 2015

you-become

Every once in a while I feel the need to get back to the basics. When it comes to reaching success in manifesting my desires, I can’t think of a more simple formula than this one here. Yet we (myself included) often overcomplicate the process and try to do too much. We think negative, lacking thoughts which create negative emotions, and we don’t envision the success we crave. When we don’t succeed we begin to doubt, and that brings us even further away from our goals.

Instead of pulling yourself away from your desires, follow this formula to bring yourself closer. Think success thoughts. Enjoy the positive feelings that correspond to those thoughts. Use your imagination to bring you ANYWHERE YOU WANT TO BE, AND BE ALL YOU WANT TO BE. That’s the wonderful part about our imagination 🙂

The more you think positively and feel positive emotions, the more you set yourself up for the success you are seeking. If you look for them, positive opportunities will begin to appear at your doorstep. It is then up to you to take the necessary action on those opportunities, resulting in success. This success then begins to snowball, and you begin living the life of your dreams.

Am I oversimplifying this process? In the fact that it can be described in more than 200 words, yes. However, in essence, it is this simple. When you consciously monitor your thoughts and emotions to keep them positive far more often than negative, you are indeed setting yourself up to be used by God for His greatness. He is doing most of the work while you just take the small and simple steps you need to take. IT CAN BE THAT SIMPLE!

I challenge you today to focus on this quote and follow its simple instructions. Then watch the miracles take place. Enjoy the blessings 🙂
