The Power of Mind Nurturing

February 8, 2014

“Nurture your mind with great thoughts, for you will never go higher than you think” – Benjamin Desraeli

Are you looking to take yourself to a higher level? The above quote is yet another reminder that increasing the quality of your life begins with increasing the quality of your thoughts. It’s unbelievable what a simple concept this is. Yet why do so many fail to do it?

There are two reasons people struggle to maintain positive thoughts. One is that they allow the negatives to take precedence. Two is simply a matter of not taking the time to do it. Knowing that increasing the quality of your thoughts enhances the quality of your life, why would you not take the time to do it? It’s a question I finally got around to asking myself in recent years. I have realized that we need to spend quality time each day deliberately increasing the quality of our thoughts.

I recommend your remain focused on the opening quote. How high and how positive can you allow yourself to think? Realize that whatever level that is, God can not only take you to that level, but He will one up you. Ephesians 3:20 in the Bible says that God will provide immeasurably more than you can ever think or ask. So why not consistently imagine the most beautiful, ideal thoughts that you can possibly think of?

The key to a high quality, joyful life is to spend time nurturing the garden of your mind. Pull out any negative weeds, then plant and water seeds of positivity, love, and success. Eventually they will grow to heights above and beyond what you could have ever imagined. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

Building a Success Consciousness

January 10, 2014

A success consciousness is that state of mind in which you cannot see yourself as anything but a success. – Ben Sweetland

This quote really caught my attention today because it combines many of the ideas I’ve learned during my years of study on mind power, success, and manifesting the greatness I seek for me and those around me.

It’s all about doing exactly what the quote says…seeing yourself ONLY as successful. It’s about not taking no for an answer. It’s about faith. It’s about empowering yourself.

How do we develop this type of mindset? By the techniques I’ve learned and written about during the past few years. That is using affirmations, visualization, and the like to program the subconscious to think positive, successful thoughts. Please refer to my other posts for more detailed information about those success-building topics.

I read this quote in Ben Sweetland’s book, “Make Money While You Sleep”. He provides two other suggestions that I will share here:

  1. Have a definite objective, knowing exactly what it is you want to accomplish. Go above knowing it CAN get done and determine a specific plan for accomplishing the goal.
  2. Develop a “do it now” attitude and get started right away. He mentions that once you take action and get started, it is much easier to continue your progress from there.

I know from experience that when you have the confidence from the quote above, the possibility for miracles and blessing in your life is endless. I have found that everything goes smoother, even when obstacles fall into my path. I not only experience more success, but I have greater joy and happiness as a result

This promise is true for you too. Program your mind so that success is the ONLY possible result. There’s no doubt and no way around it. As you continue to experience success, your confidence will grow, and the blessings will only multiply in your life. I am confident that there is no other way 🙂

How Big Is Your Goal?

December 17, 2013

“Set a goal so big that if you achieved it, it would blow you away” – The Secret

Why is it that when many people set goals, they simply shoot for the bare minimum? For example, they set financial goals to “just get out of debt”. Or career goals to simply “find a job better than the one I have”.

I can certainly relate because even now, that I know much better, I still find that I often sell myself short based on my expectations. I have taken it upon myself lately to follow the philosphy from Rhonda Byrne’s wonderful book. I am done shooting for the bare minimum. Instead, I want to be blown away. And I want to take as many people as possible with me.

Together let us take our level of expectation to a much higher level. Let us enjoy and not take for granted the small victories on our way to the goal. However, let’s not go one step above. Let’s go ten, a hundred, or better yet, not set limits at all.

I also find that when you increase expectations and shoot extremely high, you still grow even if you don’t reach the highest point. You end up much futher than if you would have kept your goals small.

I am not talking about being unrealistic. I know there are talents that I’ve never had and never will. I won’t be going in those directions. However, I have dreams and goals that I know I can achieve if I aim high, pray, think positive, and take the action necessary to get there.

The same is true for you. If you can see  yourself as perfectly fit, watching tv in your $2 million oceanview home in Malibu, doing your dream job, playing games with your dream spouse and kids, traveling to your dream vacation spots, or whatever, then go for it! Who says you have to limit yourself? Who says you can only have enough to get by? Whoever it is, I suggest you listen instead to the faithful voice inside that says your dreams can be reached and WILL be reached.

Ok, so I rambled. Again, as always. My point is that the bigger the goals you shoot for, the more likely you are to live the life you are dreaming of. The cool thing is you have full control of your thoughts and taking the steps to make it happen. You can  start at this moment, and be blown away. Enjoy the blessings : )

A Powerful Equation

March 10, 2012

I will begin with a quote from Napoleon Hill and the classic book, “Think and Grow Rich”…”All thoughts which have been emotionalized and mixed with faith begin immediately to translate into their physical equivelant”.

It’s a very powerful equation. The more I read about it I find that, if you follow that equation each day, it can be a life changer. It’s a fact that life happens according to the way we think. Positive thinkers are generally successful and happy, while negative thinkers never seem to get ahead.

The powerful component in this equation is emotion. When we fill our mind with positive thoughts, and feel the positive emotions around it, it becomes entrenched in our subconscious mind. And when our subconscious mind believes something, we act out accordingly. If our subconscious mind believes we can accomplish something, even if we weren’t able to before, we can do it!

This happens whether we plan it that way or not. I’ve seen this all too often in my own life. I look back at events in my life where I thought of something, felt the emotion of it, and then experienced it. For example, as a teenageer, I loved watching New York Jets games from Shea stadium. I loved how the fans were so loud that the bleachers actually shook during games. It was their last season at Shea and the last game was coming up. Of course it was sold out, but I imagined how cool it would be to be part of the crowd for that last game. Within days, I received a call from my grandfather saying he just “fell into” tickets to that game. Amazing! When going to college in Upstate New York, I became fascinated with the Toronto Maple Leafs and the city of Toronto. I imagined myself being there, with no intention of getting there any time soon. However, a situation arose where some friends and I were able to get transportation, tickets, and not miss any class time to attend a game. This happened within weeks of my thoughts.

There are plenty of other similar situations. In these cases, I did not deliberately try to attract these situations. They just happened. I’ve discovered that, if these situations can happen “by accident” (even though it was no accident), I have the power to create more of these situations by deliberately imagining and “experiencing” these situations and feeling the positive feelings of actually “being there”.

Our mind is a very powerful thing. When we nurture it by maintaining positive thoughts, and feeling the corresponding emotions of the accomplished goal, wonderful things happen.

Another successful key that the book doesn’t mention is prayer. When we keep our mind and corresponding emotions postive, pray, and leave the details to God, He can do abundantly more than we can ever imagine. He will lead us to opportunites for success according to His will, which indeed is better than anything we can imagine.

The key to doing our part in life is in the opening quote. Use your imagination to envision the ideal situations in all areas of your life. Feel the emotions as if you are already succeeding. Believe it can it will happen. Then look for opportunites to act according to the positive beliefs in your mind, knowing success will be yours. It is a very powerful equation…positive thoughts + positive emotion + faith = SUCCESS!!
