The Power of Hypnosis…And What it Can Do For You

January 26, 2015

I have always been intrigued with the concept of hypnosis. Ever since I was a teenager I have used it to enhance the quality of my life and remove some of the negative behaviors and habits I’ve had.

When you discuss hypnosis, it sometimes brings up negative ideas or misunderstandings. Some people still see hypnosis as someone swinging a pendulum and “getting sleepy”, or using it to make people do crazy things they have no idea they are doing. There are also some ethical and religious concerns, as some might see it as ungodly, or trying to control what God should be doing for you. For more about this question, check out the article I wrote recently, Is Hypnosis Appropriate For Christians?

The bottom line is that hypnosis can be extremely powerful and potentially life-changing. Its main goal is to influence the subconscious mind. It is this part of your mind that controls your beliefs, and ultimately your actions. If you have negative ideas in your subconscious, hypnosis can change them, and ultimately cause you to take action to create the positive results you are seeking.

I have been using hypnosis since I was teenager. It has positively impacted my life in several different ways. Here are some examples:

  • It has brought me greater confidence. I was a mostly shy teenager that lacked confidence in myself. Using hypnosis consistently helped me become a person that I liked and others enjoyed being with. It still helps me maintain that confidence today.
  • It removed fears. I had some embarrassing fears that many teenagers don’t have. I used hypnosis with the intention to rid those fears, and they were gone in a matter of weeks.
  • It removed bad habits from my life.
  • It healed my body. I have used hypnosis to heal injuries and remove stress. In most cases the healing was nearly immediate.

These are specific examples of how hypnosis has impacted me directly. I know others that have used this powerful tool to quit smoking, lose weight, and even find a better job. The potential is endless. Whatever it is you are trying to change or bring about in your life, you can use hypnosis to rapidly manifest your desires.

Up until recently, I mainly hypnotized myself. However, I have found some excellent programs that guide me and enhance the power of hypnosis. One person that I feel very comfortable with is Joseph Clough. Joseph is an internationally known hypnotist who provide a great deal of excellent information on personal development, along with hypnosis tracks to speed up the manifestation process. I love listening to his strong British accent, and he presents himself with the attitude of a friend just dropping by for a chat. I will say that he knows his stuff, and he knows it well. I have read his book, “Be Your Potential” and used his hypnosis tracks. He provides very simple mind-enhancing techniques that can be implemented immediately. The results soon follow.

I recommend you tapping into the power of hypnosis. It has made positive impacts in my life and it will in yours as well. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

How To Eliminate Your Fears…Now!!!

March 16, 2013

Fear is the number one thing that prevents us from reaching our goals and taking the steps to bring our life to a higher level. If we let it rule in us, we may never get to the point we want to get to. It especially bothers me because fear is the opposite of faith. When I fear, it means I am not demonstrating faith, thus not allowing the God who can do all things to impart blessing in my life.

You may feel the same way. You want to take the next steps and move to the next level in your life, but some type of fear is stopping you. Perhaps you are afraid you will fail, or you fear what other people might think or say. Maybe you even fear that the goal you are seeking is not even possible, so why even pursue it if you know you will only be let down?

These fears are natural, but I am here to say now that they are totally unnecessary. There’s a God who is in your midst, waiting for you to remove your fear and instead have the faith to know that all things are possible. That time has arrived.

So what’s a great way to immediately eliminate fears? I have learned that the best way to remove your fears is to keep your mind focused on the present moment as much as possible. It seems too simple, but it cannot be more true. What is fear anyway? Fear is simply the worry about something that your mind believes could potentially happen. Has it actually happened yet? No!!! You are worrying about what people MIGHT think, or about what MAY happen. It is all simply a negative process of the mind. In fact the mind is the only place where fear actually exists.

The key is to fully focus on the present moment. When you focus on the present, fear is nearly impossible. The present moment is the only time you actually have. You cannot live a past or future event at this exact moment, can you? Yes, we need to plan for the future. However, when do you do things that affect your future? Now! Anything you do to make up for your mistakes in the past are done now as well. I will say it again…this present moment is all we have.

I understand that there are some fears that are beneficial to us. This is based on things we have learned in the past. For example, I fear touching a hot stove because when I did it before I was burned. I fear going into a dark alley in the inner city because I have heard how dangerous it can be. These are realistic fears. The problem is that most of our fears are simply imagined. It is these fears that hold us back from living the life we want to live.

I challenge you again to live as much as possible in the present moment. Right now, replace those thoughts of worry and fear with thoughts of faith and success. Visualize yourself living the life you choose free of fear. The thoughts you are thinking now play a big part in the way life manifests in the future. In the present moment, your fears have not played out yet. If you stay in the present moment, they will never play out because you are taking the steps towards success instead of retreating in fear.

As always, I thank you for reading. I pray for your goals to be reached and your dreams to come true. Enjoy the blessings : )

I Can Do It!

February 21, 2012

Do you ever wish there were certain words you could say to inspire yourself in every situation? Some of you may already have them. If you do, I recommend you continue to use those words. However, if you are looking for a way to inspire yourself, eliminate fears, and increase yourself, this information may help.

I found a video the other day by Brian Tracy. In this one minute video, he simply suggests that we repeat the phrase “I can do it” to ourselves repeatedly for any situation that we need the faith to excell. Too many times we don’t take the necessary steps to accomplish our goals and dreams. Why is that? One simple word…fear. We are afraid to move forward, mainly because we feel like we can’t do it. We can’t imagine ourselves being successful.

We can change the patterns of fear by following the advice in this video. By constantly saying “I can”, we eliminate those thoughts and feelings that we can’t, and replace them with thoughts of confidence and the ability to accomplish the goal. Instead of envisioning failure, we imagine ourselves succeeding. When our minds our filled with these positive thoughts, we confidently take the necessary action we need to take instead of procrastinating on the sidelines.

It’s amazing how simple words and thoughts can change our outlook. That’s why this video is so helpful. The simple words “I can” repeated to ourselves constantly will help us truly believe we can accomplish what we set out to do. Try it, and you will be amazed. Focus On The Power

October 28, 2011

A humorous scene in A Charlie Brown Christmas is when Charlie goes to Lucy for help. She says he must be afraid of something, so she goes through a list of fears with him. She fails to pinpoint one, until she comes up with pentophobia, which is the fear of everything. Charlie Brown then exclaims…”that’s it!!”

We can laugh at that humorous situation, but unfortunately, the power of fear is real for many of us. Sometimes it is more powerful than we think. It took a conversation with a child for me to figure this out. Several years ago, when my nephew was about 7 years old, he and his family visted. They lived in the country, while I lived on Long Island. We talked throughout the day. He asked why I didn’t spend more time in the country. I said I would, but I was afraid I wouldn’t last too long in the outdoors. He asked why I didn’t have a girlfriend. I’d said I’d ask more girls out, but I was afraid they’d say no. I had a broken hose I was trying to mess with. He asked why don’t I just fix it? I said I was afraid I would make it worse. Finally he says, “Uncle Joe, are you afraid of everything?”

That question was a wake up call for me. I realized that I couldn’t honestly say no to that question. I was letting fear rule all parts of my life, and many different situations. That conversation was quite a while ago, but I still remember it today, especially if begin to let fear creep into my life.

There is one Bible verse that stands out to help remedy this situation. 2 Timothy 1:7 says..God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love, and self-control. We need to remember that it is His spirit that lives within us. That spirit is all-powerful, and all-loving. When we are conscious of that fact, fear disappears quickly.

Fear can interfere with our progress in every area of our lives. However, we don’t have to allow it. Focus instead on the powerful Spirit within you and around you, and put your faith in that. Let it lead you. Before you know it, instead of fear and apprehension, you will feel a sense of power and accomplishment. I’ve seen the damage fear can do in my life, and I’ve also seen the rewards that faith and power can bring. Focus on this powerful verse, and you will see it in your own life. Enjoy the blessings : )

Power Over Fear – Part 2

September 4, 2011

In my last post, I wrote that we can help ourselves conquer fears by envisioning success, acceptance, or the opposite of whatever we are fearing in our minds.

There is another great idea I wanted to share that has helped me. Here’s an example….when I was a young child, I didn’t have many of the typical childhood fears. I wasn’t afraid of the boogie man coming out of the closet, or afraid of the dark. However, at the age of 14 (yes I said 14), that changed. There was a book I read called “The Amityville Horror” that really shook me up. Besides living 10 minutes from there, the spiritual concept of it seriously scared me. Now, at 14, I was afraid of the dark, and dreaded waking up at 3:15 am, the time all of the bad things in the story occurred.

I was embarrassed to be afraid of the dark at 14 years old. I had to do something about it. I was reading a self-hypnosis book that my father had. It talked about using hypnosis to desensitize ourselves of our fears. What does desensitize mean? It means to imagine yourself doing the things you are afraid of. Consistently see yourself doing those things with nothing negative happening. For my situation, I saw myself going into the dark with nothing bad happening. I saw myself waking up at 3:15 with nothing bad happening. I played this over and over in my mind, until I actually believed that nothing bad would happen while being in the dark or waking up at that dreaded time. Within a week, I was cured of this fear that I had had for several months.

I recommend the same formula for you. Think of your biggest fear. Then, in your imagination, see yourself doing the thing or being in the place that you fear. See yourself succeeding. See that nothing bad is happening. See that the fear is only something you have developed in your own mind. Then let God do His part to help. I am confident that you will gradually see your fears disappearing. Try it. You have nothing to fear : )

Power Over Fear

September 3, 2011

One of our greatest enemies in life is fear. It holds us back from so many great things in life, and the stress it causes results in sickness and lack of joy. I especially hate it in my own life because it means that I am lacking the faith in God, and the faith necessary to excell in life.

So how can we defeat fear? There are several ways. We can pray and ask for God’s help. We can make believe it’s not there. We can take action and forget it’s there.

Among all this, there is one method that I’ve read in several sources over the years that seems to work best. The fears we have are in our mind. In fact, most of our fears don’t even exist. They are simply imagined events or situations that have occurred in only one place..our own minds. Once we realize this, the key is to simply change our thinking. Instead of imagining negative things happening, imagine the best! Instead of fearing failure, imagine success! Instead of fearing rejection, imagine complete acceptance! Anything you fear, imigine the opposite instead. Instead of procrastinating and robbing yourself of the joys of life, you will instead add to life’s greatness. Instead of stress, you will thrive with positive energy.

Remember that, whether it’s fear or success, it’s all in our mind. And the thoughts that dwell in our minds lead to the type of life we lead. Do you want to live a life of fear and worry, or a life of joy, confidence and success? If it’s the latter, use your positive thoughts to destroy the fearful ones. Then put a smile on your face and live the life you were meant to live. You have nothing to fear, and you have everything to gain. Enjoy the blessings : )
