Did You Do Your Brain Workout Today?

February 18, 2013

During these fast moving days, it is often difficult to find time for a workout. With all of the crazy things going on, usually the workout ends up getting pushed further down the list, until time runs out and it doesn’t get done.

This scene has played out far too many times in my life. However, I have learned that the ones who do get their workouts done are the ones who deliberately schedule time to do so, and stick to that plan regardless. Those are the ones that are in the best shape and get the most from their body.

I will say that there is another workout that is in your best interest to stick to on a regular basis. Besides working out the body, it is extremely important to work out its most important function of all…the brain. Just like the body, the brain needs to be worked out on a regular basis to remain effective. I have realized the importance of putting aside specific, “no matter what” time to exercise the brain.

One may ask, how exactly do I exercise my brain for maximum efficiency? One answer I would provide is to keep using it. Remaining active instead of wasting away countelss hours of nothing is definitely recommended.

Besides the quantity of thought, I believe it is very important to pay attention to the quality of your thoughts. When you focus on positive outcomes, gratitude, and faithful, optimistic thoughts, you are exercising your brain to get the most out of it.

The important thing is to not take no for an answer when it comes to scheduling time to do this. It doesn’t need to be a huge chunk of time. Many mind experts say the best time to do this is right before going to bed.

I have followed this advice and spend 15 minutes or so immediately before going to sleep focusing on the highlights of the day, and filling my mind with scenes of success, victory, beauty, peace, and whatever great thoughts I can think. The result is I go to sleep with a smile on my face thanking God. I sleep more peacefully, and wake up ready to take on the next day.

Please be sure to do all you can to get some physical exercise. I challenge you to be even more sure to complete your brain workout. Keep it active with the most beautiful, positive thoughts you can think, and you will be in better shape than you can ever imagine. Enjoy the blessings : )

Super Size Your Mind Power

March 24, 2012

I stress on this blog often the need to maintain a powerful mind. The more powerful our mind is, the greater chance for success.

Our brain is like any other muscle in our body in that, if it is to be built up, it needs to be exercised. The more we use it and exercise it in different ways. the more powerful it becomes. I read an excellent article recently about doing just that. The author provides several different ways to exercise the brain and keep it “in shape” Here are some of those suggestions:

  1. Puzzles/Trivia – We do these for fun, but they really are valuable in helping to exercise the brain. The author also suggests doing things to use both sides of the brain, such as using your computer mouse with your opposite hand.
  2. Prayer/Meditation
  3. Good nutrition/Brain Power foods. Examples of those power foods are nuts, deeply colored fruits and vegetables, green tea, and chocolate.
  4. Much water! Not only does this help keep the brain fresh, but it helps your entire body flow smoother.
  5. Exercise
  6. Creative vizualization. When we visualize success, we seem to be pulled in that direction.
  7. Learning a new language/instrument, or any new project to get the brain thinking.

These are several ways to increase the power of the brain, keeping your mind sharp. Please feel free to share anything that works for you. In the meantime, keep exercising your brain! Enjoy the blessings!

March 3, 2012

There are countless ways to help increase the power of our brain. Some are simple, like eating well, getting enough sleep, and exercising. However, there are other, not so well known ways to increase brain power.

I recently read a great article called “One Hundred Twenty Ways To Boost Your Brain Power” by Luciano Passuello. The article provides exactly what its title says, with valuable information on how you can boost your brain power. Some of the ideas are simple, while others are quirky and different. Either way, they are all helpful. I strongly recommend you check it out….

How Can We Increase Our Mind Power?

February 28, 2012

I am learning more each day about the power of the mind, and how channeling this power can have major benefits in our lives. In fact, one of the main reasons for this blog is to share this information to help others as it has helped me.

A question people often ask is, how can I increase my mind power? Is it possible to do? A recent article I read not only confirms the possibility, but provides some excellent suggestions for doing just that. These suggestions are easy to implement into our daily schedule and don’t take a great deal of energy or time to do. They are:

  1. Exercise
  2. Take in a high amount of B vitamins
  3. Get enough sleep
  4. Avoid stress whenever possible
  5. Do things you like and are passionate about

These ideas and activities are all good for the brain. If we maximize the power of our brain, we maximize our level of success. It doesn’t take a lot of brain power to figure that out.

I have included a link of the entire article. Enjoy the blessings : )

Can We Use Our Brain To Stay Young?

February 22, 2012

One of the big questions in our society today is “what can we do to stay young?” We would all like to do everything we can to stop the aging process, especially if we consider our age number to be on the high side.

There are things we can do to slow down the aging process, like eating right, exercising, staying active, etc. I read an interesting article in Forbes today about how we can use our brain to help look and stay young. The article shares ways to take care of our brain, such as following some of the guidlines above. We can also improve brain health by maintaining positive thoughts and a positive outlook on life. When we do that, we eliminate stressful, unhealthy thoughts that can actually increase the aging process instead of slowing it down.

I find this information very helpful. It is further proof that we can use our brains to positively impact different areas of our life, and even slow down the aging process! I’ve included a link of the article. Enjoy!
