The Ultimate Compliment

October 12, 2020

One of my greatest goals in life is to make positive impacts in the lives of other people. That is one of the major reasons I have this blog. One thing I have realized over time is that one doesn’t have to work hard to make these impacts. In fact, there are times in my life where I felt like it was almost automatic. Here’s a situation to demonstrate.

I was at the annual Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto. This was a time in my life where I had become infatuated with the city of Toronto (it’s still one of my favorites today). I was raised on Long Island, so I never knew much about the city. Then I had gone to college about 3 hours away from there and had several opportunities to visit during my college years I learned about the city and fell in love with it. This was also a very exciting time for me because, since I had left college, I felt God calling me to move from Long Island to Buffalo New York. During this trip which was about three years after graduating, I was staying in Buffalo making final preparations for my move there. And of course one of the things that attracted me to Buffalo was its close proximity to Toronto!

Anyway, I was feeling great as I was in my favorite city with some great friends, and I felt very close to God as He was leading me in this period of my life. Here’s one part that really made it special. At the exhibition, a woman was handing out Christian tracks. She asked if I wanted one. I smiled and said yes. The woman looked at me and said, “you’re already a Christian, aren’t you? I can definitely tell.”

When she said that, I was surprised in a way. I’m not usually one who broadcasts my faith, even though I would consider myself to be a strong Christian. However, I quickly realized why she said that. As mentioned, I felt very close to God during that time of my life. This situation showed me that, during those closes times, He not only brightens my world but shines through me to brighten others as well. For me, it was the ultimate compliment that made my day. In fact, it might have made my year. Through my normal actions and just being me without saying anything, someone could tell I was a Christian.

Through this experience, I learned that I don’t have to work hard at letting God’s light shine through me. In fact, I believe this moment was so special to me because it showed me I can let the light shine through me in a way that is most comfortable for me. I’m not one that you would find handing out tracks or broadcasting my faith as I mentioned earlier. Instead, I prefer to lead by example. I like to work with the quote by St. Francis which says, “preach the gospel. And if necessary, use words.”

Through this experience, I realized that for me, you, or anyone else to make positive impacts on the world, the only real effort it takes is to remain close to God. Keep in close contact with Him, realize He is totally in control of our lives, and allow Him to take that control. Follow the advice in I Thessalonians 5 16-17 which provides a simple 3 step process to be joyful always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances. People who study the Law of Attraction closely would say to keep your energy vibration at a high level. It’s the same idea. I believe they go hand in hand because the three concepts from that Bible verse are the highest energy vibrations of joy, gratitude, and closeness with God.

I know that all three of the above ideas were part of my being on that beautiful day in Toronto. I was full of joy. I was thankful that God was leading me. And as I mentioned before, I was in prayer with Him on a regular basis. I present these keys to you if you would like to effortlessly bless those around you. Please know that I am not saying it is wrong to proclaim your faith or to be someone that regularly uses words to preach the gospel or to affect people around you. We need you to do that! I am just saying that, if you want that blessing that I received of having someone know instantly that God’s light is shining brightly in you, it is as simple as the 3 steps above. Be joyful in all things. Thank God on a regular basis for what you have, and even for what He is bringing to you. And stay in contact with God on a regular basis and allow Him to lead you in your life. When you do this your life with be blessed in ways you can’t even imagine ūüôā

Simple Ways to Discover Who You Really Are

May 6, 2020

For some reason, I’ve had lots of trouble sleeping at night. We are in the middle of a pandemic, but I am experiencing far less stress than during normal times. It could be because my sleep schedule is thrown off. It could be because the weather here in Buffalo is so cold and lousy that I am not exercising outside as much as I would like, or maybe because I am eating a bit more than normal. Whatever the reason is, it could be very frustrating to lay awake at night, sometimes for hours, without being able to sleep.

Since these times are becoming more frequent, I decided to turn it into a positive. Those times in the still and quiet of the night have resulted in some deep and intense conversations with God. I have also used self-hypnosis to work on the depths of my own subconscious minds. In the past month, I have really grown spiritually because of these conversations and reflections.

It was during this time last night that I felt God really speaking. What He told me was something I already knew, and I have written about it in this space before. It’s what Mufasa told Simba in the Lion King… “Remember who you are.” In the movie, Mufasa reminds his son, as he is squandering his life in the wilderness, that He is the one true king to rule the kingdom. He has all the power he needs to do that, he just needs to take possession of it and take the necessary action that will result in the will for his life to be accomplished. I felt God sharing a similar message to me last night. He reminded me that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. This being that thinks, feels, moves, and acts is actually the very spirit of God in action. I have everything I need. I need to focus on that energy within me and utilize it as I take the necessary steps for God’s will to be accomplished in my life.¬†If I was having problems sleeping before that, it was even more difficult afterward! But I was ok with that. I was emotionally charged and felt like I could conquer the world at that moment.

The question you may be asking now is how to tap into that realization. How can you focus and maintain the realization of who you really are? Here are some ways that help me:

  • Meditation – Many people have different interpretations of this practice. Mine is to simply clear the mind. I focus on things like my breathing and the sounds around me. Even spending a few minutes in this peace and quiet with a clear mind can do wonders, and open you up to hear from God.
  • Remain in the present moment – The present moment is the only one where you have absolutely full control. You can’t go back and live past moments (if you do mentally you’re doing it in the present), and you can’t jump ahead to live in the future. The one moment you can use to take control is this one. When you are quiet in the mind and fully present, it enhances your spiritual connection with your Creator. In the present moment, there is no room for fear and doubt. Are your worries coming to pass right now? Are you failing at this moment? No you are not, so focus on what you can do now and your fears will most likely not come close to being realized. Once again, having a clear mind and remaining in the present keeps you wide open to hear from God and enable Him to remind you about who you are and the great power you have access to.
  • Prayer – Prayer goes hand in hand with meditation, except instead of staying quiet, you are actually engaged in conversation with God. Sometimes you are talking, and sometimes you are listening. I guarantee this though… if you ask God to show you who you really are, He will!

These are some methods you can use to focus on and realize who you really are. For more information about this, I recommend you check out my free e-book, The Ease and Keys of Rapid Manifestation. This is one of the key steps to the rapid manifestation of your goals that I discuss in the book. When I go through my day with this realization, I feel invincible. I feel like I have the answers to all of my questions, and I feel like I have absolutely nothing to fear.

I recommend you using these methods to focus on and know who you really are. It will totally empower you, and among other things, it will bring you great peace that will help you sleep wonderfully. Enjoy the blessings ūüôā

A Powerful Spiritual Quote

April 9, 2020

I’m going to keep things simple today. I’ve been struggling the past few days, feeling spiritually dead. I prayed for guidance this morning and I was reminded of this quote by Wayne Dyer… Focus on being a spiritual being having an occasional human experience instead of being a human being having an occasional spiritual experience.

This was certainly the wake-up call I was looking for! It helped me greatly, and if you’ve been struggling spiritually I hope it helps you too. Let your spiritual focus come first! Yes, we all need to deal with the occasional human experiences. However, when you do them from a spiritual point of view, they seem to go much smoother.

Remember, “seek first the kingdom of God and all else is added onto you.” Let your experience be a spiritual one today, and let the spiritual presence guide you everywhere you go. Enjoy the blessings ūüôā

Celebrating Our Oneness

December 30, 2013

As we come close to another New Years celebration, I continued a tradition last night. I have a video (VHS) copy of the ABC 2000 celebration when Peter Jennings spent 23 straight hours on the air showing the millennium celebrations from all over the world.

I have always been very interested in other people and countries from around the world, so on that last night of 1999 I was absolutely captivated by what I was watching. I am still very interested in other people and cultures which is why I continue to enjoy this wonderful video now 14 years later.

In recent months, this interest in other people has been taken one step further. Why is it so important to love and serve other people? This is a question that’s been running inside my head, and I believe God is trying to talk to me about. Besides the fact it’s what he wants, I am seeing the bigger picture.

Especially lately, God has shown me that His spirit dwells in each of us. We all carry a part of Him wherever we go. Since it’s the same spirit, you and I all have something in common. We are from the same source. In essence, we are connected. A more simple, to the point example comes from Ephesians 4:25 which according to the amplified version says, “we are all parts of one body and members of one another”. In another words, I take this as saying we are all parts of the same whole. This connects us all.

What exactly does this mean? I have learned that what we do as a part affects the whole. I once read from author Wayne Dyer that, if we keep our attitude positive and loving and maintain a positive emotional state, we can automatically impact hundreds if not thousands of people in a positive way. At first I didn’t understand, but once I learned this concept of oneness, it made total sense. Think about this again. Simply by being your best self, you not only make things good for you and your “part”, but you affect the whole, thus impacting many other people.

I believe this is why you get what you give in life. When you give, you are giving to a part of¬†the whole that you are already part of. In essence, you are giving to yourself. Does this make sense? In essence, when you make other people better you also make yourself better. I don’t know about you, but once I realized this it made me so much more willing to give and serve. I know that I am not giving to get something I return. I know that when I give, I am enhancing the spirit of God that we are all a part of. Since I am a part of it too, I benefit as well. The same is true for you.

As mentioned, I have always loved and appreciated people from everywhere. One of the great things about this blog is that I am able to meet and interact with people from all over the world, and I treasure that opportunity. I challenge you to see things in the new light I mention here. Realize that you are connected to everyone through the Spirit of God that is part of all of us. This goes for your friends and family, to the homeless person living on the street, or that person that gave you a dirty look at the supermarket, your angry boss, or whoever. Remember this fact the next time you begin to judge. Instead, I challenge you to appreciate that oneness and do all you can to add to it. You are a part of it, so you will certainly benefit from your positive actions. Enjoy the blessings : )

Avoid Circumstantial Evidence

October 5, 2013

Why is it many people don’t achieve their goals in life? There are several reasons. One big one is that they pay too much attention to circumstantial evidence. For example, the evidence shows that they still don’t have what they want, so they dwell on that fact.

What happens when you dwell on the fact that the achievement of your goal still hasn’t arrived? Unfortunately, it brings more of the same. You receive in life what you focus on. If you focus on lack and that you don’t have what you are looking for, you will continue not having it.

You may be saying, “how can I argue with the evidence”? The truth is you can’t. However, I will tell you there is more evidence to go by. I will provide the crash course version here. You are a spiritual being, surrounded by the spirit of God. This spirit makes up your being, and it is connected to everything else in this universe. In essence, you already have everything you can ever want. It lies in this spiritual realm that you and everyone else is a part of.

The key then, is to focus on THIS evidence. Even though you cannot see it in the physical, your desire exists in the spiritual realm. Once you grab hold of this and believe it, you will maintain your focus on the end result and soon see it occur in the physical world. Remember, whatever you consistently focus your thoughts on is what you eventually experience in your life.

Keep in mind that it may not happen right away. Sometimes there are reasons where God wants us to wait. Don’t become discouraged if this happens. If you maintain a faithful mindset, and know you will eventually see it, you will. Also, there are times when receiving what you want is not the right thing. Do not fret. You will only receive something better if this is the case.

I remind you again to avoid relying on circumstances to get you closer to your goal or make you happy. You can always be happy and confident if you focus on the spiritual evidence that tells you that what you want already exists and that it is already a part of you. It is simply up to you to believe it and keep your mind focused on these positive thoughts.

How do I know this is all true? I have seen overwhelming evidence in my own life. Enjoy the blessings : )

How To Find What You Are Looking For

September 15, 2013

There are not many things that bother me in life. Fortunately, I have been blessed with an even keel, go with the flow attitude, and I’ve been gifted with a great deal of patience (some times too much patience).

One of the only things that gets my blood boiling (besides those driving under the speed limit in the passing lane) is when I can’t find something I need at the moment. If you want to see things fly, hear things you shouldn’t hear, and watch a grown man act like a two year old, come see me when I am looking for something I can’t find.

I am not proud of the above actions, but I know many others who desperately want to find what they are looking for (even though they do it in a much more mature manner than me). It does get frustrating when you can’t find what you want or need, whether it’s the TV remote, a life partner, a dream job, or whatever you are looking for.

I have been reminded a lot lately (that’s when I know God is speaking to me) that we already have everything we are looking for, and there is only one place to look for it. I will wait a few seconds as your head stops spinning. However, it is true, even though you are saying that you don’t yet see your desired significant other or dream job or full bank account.

Here’s the deal. Everything you can ever think of already exists in the spiritual realm. Every desire or need is already in existence. So answer number two…where do I find it? Here’s a key that’s really provided peace and power for me lately. You find the power to achieve what you want…WITHIN. As in within yourself.

When you seek your desire, look within yourself. There you will find the Spirit that created everything. The spirit within you is the same spirit that is within everyone and everything else. In essence, you are already connected to everyone and everything in the universe.

Here is why it is so important to look within instead of going to the external…the spirit of God is within you. When you seek answers within, you are literally seeking the God who has all the answers to everything. Submit to this spiritual guidance and you can only be led to where you want and need to go. When you seek the external, you are at the mercy of many circumstances you can’t control. That often leads to frustration, and being led further from the desired result instead of closer to it.

All of the answers to all of your questions are right there within you. To find those answers as quickly as possible, I recommend taking times throughout your day to just stop, be still, and seek the answers you are looking for. Sometimes it’s best to quietly wait and listen, while other times it’s best to pray, ask, and seek. I recommend you do whatever feels right at the moment.

You may say, I don’t have time throughout the day to stop and pray/meditate. My response is that you don’t have time not to. The more time you spend taking small breaks meditating on God and the spirit within, the more time and energy you will find to act and move towards your goal. It’s a win-win situation.

I remind you again that you CAN find what you are looking for. Look within right here, right now. It’s there waiting for you. Enjoy the blessings : )

A Connection To An Old Commercial

July 16, 2013

I don’t know about you, but for some reason I have a fascination with TV commercials. I enjoy watching some of them today, and have fond memories of commercials of the past.

As I was doing some reading the other day, an old commercial was brought to mind. It’s an AT&T commercial from a while back where the theme is that “we’re all connected”. Makes sense for a phone company, right?

It brings me to the theme of my message for today. It’s about…you guessed it…connection. Don’t get me wrong, I like the theme of the commercial. Their phone service certainly makes it possible to connect with people and places. However, ¬†that’s not exactly what I want to talk about today.

I would like to remind you that you are already connected to everybody and everything. How? It’s simply your Creator. Think about it. The spirit of God is a part of you. This same spirit is a part of everyone else. We are all part of it, meaning we are all connected in that way. A good visual of this is provided at our Christmas Eve church service each year. There is a giant candle at the front of the church. Each individual has their own candle that they light from that big one. As a result, each one of shines our individual light brightly, but the source of the light is from the “original”

It’s the same for you and me. We each have that spiritual light shining through us that comes from the same source. Do you ever wonder one of the reasons we are supposed to love our neighbor as ourselves? In essence, when you love and respect someone else, you are loving and respecting part of yourself!

The same is true for the material things and situations we are seeking. The same God that created you also created the money, house, job, car, talent, or whatever it is you are seeking. Your goals and desires are already a part of you because it originates from the same energy you are made of.

How can this information help you? When you know you are separate from no one and nothing and you focus on the fact that you are one with the people and things around you, it doesn’t seem so far away or unattainable, does it? For example, let’s say you are seeking more money. You and money are created by the same Creator. You both have the same energy. You are connected. All you have to do is believe it, and you begin the process of manifesting it to you. You will then be inspired with the action to take to allow it to manifest in reality.

When you realize this concept of connection, your relationships with others flow much more smoothly. Once again, when you love and respect other people, you are doing it to yourself because you are made of the same spiritual essence. I believe that’s one of the reasons your relationships suffer when you don’t love yourself. It’s because you are not respecting the same spirit that is also a part of everyone else.

I know that I feel a greater love and respect for those around me when I focus on this idea of connection. I also have a greater faith in my circumstances because I know that I am not separate from them. It’s already part of me, and it’s just ¬†a matter of manifesting the goal.

I know the same will be true for you too. Focus on this idea that you are connected to everyone and everything. It will really make a difference in you life. I can attest to it. If you will excuse me, my phone is ringing. Remember, we are all connected. Have a wonderful day : )

Connect to your Higher Power

I find this to be a great indicator of your spiritual condition. It’s when you are closest to God and seek Him first that great things happen : )

How Is Life Like A Smartphone?

May 14, 2013

Ever since I saw the smartphone for the first time, I have been in love. In my opinion, it is one of the greatest devices ever invented. In the palm of my hand I not only have a phone, but basically a ticket to the world. I get so much use from this device, yet there is so much  more potential that I am not even aware of. If I had greater awareness of what this phone could do, I would be even more amazed than I already am.

The only negative with this device is that it needs to be re-charged every day. On some days, I need to charge it more than once. This can make if difficult to function, especially if I don’t have my charger available.

Sometimes interesting thoughts cross my mind. I realized how the smartphone is very similar to life, especially one that is lived in the Spiritual realm. When you live in the Spirit, the world is at your fingertips. You get so much more from life. Many of us are unaware of the great potential we have. If we had greater awareness of what we could accomplish through the Spirit that is within us, we would be amazed at what life would bring us.

Just like the smartphone, we need to re-charge on a regular basis. When we “plug in” to our power source, our power and capability¬†are completely restored and ready for maximum use. Sometimes we need to re-charge more than once during the day for this to happen. In fact, I will go as far as recommending re-charging as much as possible. When we stay connected to our Source, we are never without power.

When you use your smartphone today, or see someone else who does, think of how life relates. You are a very powerful “device” capable of “bringing the world” to yourself and everyone that comes in contact with you. If you haven’t already, “plug yourself in” to your power Source and be thankful for that mighty power that you are supplied with. It is indeed a gift.

I would write more, but  my smartphone is ringing, and I need to take a call. Enjoy the blessings : )

Who Do You Think You Are?

May 2, 2013

I was reminded the other day of a conversation I had with someone at a part time job I worked at. We talked about Christianity and our confidence in the goodness and power of God. The main theme of the conversation for each of us was “I know who I am”. What we meant is that we knew we were beautiful, powerful, and awesome creations of our God.

I didn’t enjoy this job very much. It was a job I was doing in addition to my teaching job in order to make some extra money to pay off our mountain of debt. It was rather insulting when someone half my age and education level would look down on me because I didn’t do this petty job as well as they did. Each time my friend and I would have a negative experience at this job, we always had our faithful line to fall back on. We would look at each other and say, “I know who I am.”

Do you really know who you are? I’m sure you know your name and all of your bad habits. But have you ever looked beyond that and learned who you really are? Whether you believe it or not, you are a direct creation of the God of the universe. Of the God who created everything. Better yet, His spirit dwells in you and is a part of you.

Do you think God would ever give up on something He created and is a part of? I don’t think so. I read a quote from a website that says, “You are part of the infinite ocean of pure potential where all things are possible. You also are an Energy Being, an individualized vibration of God”. (http://www.essential-practices.com/remember.html)

With God, all things are possible. This power of all possibility is part of you. Knowing this, you can do the following two things to dramatically alter your life:

1. Focus on this connection as much as possible. Whether things are going smoothly, or are difficult, remember that you are a divine creation, and part of that endless power and energy.

2. Begin thinking like the Godly spirit that is within you. God thinks in terms of love, service, power, and endless possibility. Act in this Godly way, and see things from this perspective. Instead of procrastinating because of fear, you will take inspired action to achieve your goals and help others achieve theirs. Instead of going against the flow in your job, finances, relationships, etc., you will go with the flow of the Spirit and be carried to the place where you can serve and do the things to turn your life from bad to good, or good to great.

I will ask you again…who are you? Do you see yourself as inferior and without the faith to live your dream life? Or are you a person who knows the Godly power within you and thinks on its wavelength to create greatness in life? I’ve learned from experience that the second option is best. Do I still have disappointments and defeats? Of course I do. However, I get over them much quicker because I know my Creator is more than ready to pick me up and help me get going again. That power is mine. I know who I am : )
