Share What You Have

September 18, 2013

I just want to provide a reminder for you. The very Spirit of God dwells in you. That means you already possess all the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and self control you can imagine.  It also means you are connected to everything and everyone in the universe. Once again…whatever it is…you already have it!

Knowing this, I challenge you to share as much as this love and light with as many people as you can today. It doesn’t have to be anything major. You can share your joy with a simple smile. You can share your love with a simple act of service. Think about how you can share any of these spiritual gifts, then do what you are inspired to do. It will make someone’s day, and yours too. Enjoy the blessings : )

Powerful Advice That Will Serve You Well

September 17, 2013

If you want love you’ve got to give a little

If you want faith just believe a little

If you want peace turn your cheek a little

You’ve got to give, you’ve got to give to live.

The above lyrics come from one of my favorite 80s songs, “Give to Live”, by Sammy Hagar. I share it because I have been reminded of this message on several occasions lately. Again, I take that as a sign that God is trying to tell me something.

What is He trying to tell me? I believe the message is that if you want something really bad, He expects you to give it away first. Give to others what you are seeking yourself.

It makes sense according to the law of sowing and reeping (or the Law of Attraction). In essence, you get what you give. If you think positive thoughts, you receive positive results. This takes it a step further in saying that when you take positive actions, you receive positive outcomes and responses.

This law is so simple, yet how many people ignore it? I say this because even though I am aware of how this works, I still fall into the same trap. Sometimes the simplicity of it actually scares people away. Other times, we just get so caught up in doubt and negativity that it clouds our thinking from faith and positivity.

I ask you now…what is it you want most in life? Is it happines? Then go make someone happy. Is it more time for yourself? First spend some time serving someone else. Is it more money? Start by sharing some money with a charity or someone who needs it more than you.

Whatever it is you are most desperately seeking, find a way to serve and give it to someone else. Please don’t do it with the intent on receiving back, because that defeats the whole purpose. Instead, do it without even thinking about it. Do it for the great feeling you receive knowing you helped someone else in need. I have found from experience that when you give this way, it not only comes back to you, but it arrives in more and better ways than you can ever think of.

I challenge you to give away what you want most today. I promise that you won’t be wanting it for much longer because you will have it in abundance. Enjoy the blessings : )

Who Can You Help Today?

July 5, 2013

Are you looking for a great way to make a difference and be the best person you can be? One of the best ways to be your best is to help others. This is nothing new, but I am realizing more and more how helping others has extreme benefits. Please allow me to share:

1. You positively impact others – This is the most obvious benefit. Other people benefit from your generosity and the time you give them.

2. You fulfill your purpose – One of the great reasons you are here on this earth is to share the love God showers upon you. We are commanded to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. When you focus on helping others you are fulfilling this command.

3. You feel better about yourself – Doesn’t it feel great to know you’ve given your best to someone else? The positive emotions you feel empower your own life, and give you more power and incentive to impact others in greater ways.

4. You get what you give – It’s amazing how, the more we we give and life, the more we are given. The more help we provide, the more help we are provided. It’s wonderful how many sincere friends show up to help when you regularly offer your services.

I don’t want to advocate helping others just so we can get things in return and solely to feel good about ourselves. However, there’s no denying that those are wonderful incentives.

I challenge you to ask yourself..who can I help today? If you think about it long enough (although it usually only takes  a short time to receive the answer) you will find plenty of people to help, and plenty of ways to do it. Even if it’s just one or two people to assist, and can make a great difference for that person and for yourself.

So who can you help today? Your opportunity awaits. Take advantage of it today. Enjoy the blessings : )

A Generous Dose of Info To Help Receive What You Want

August 6, 2012

Is there a special formula that gives you a better chance to receive what you want? In one way, I would have to say no. There are many factors involved. However, if you are looking for a way to enhance your success, reach your goals, and receive the blessings you are looking for, I have something that can help you get there.

How do you get want you want? The answer is quite ironic and may surprise you….give it away! What? How can I give away something I don’t even have? I will say that in most cases, you already do have it. For example, some people are looking to be appreciated more. In that case, the best way to receive that appreciation is to show greater appreciation for others. Seeking more money? Be more willing to share what you already have. Many of us say we don’t have enough time. If that’s the case, give yours away. Spend time helping and serving other people, and watch how much time you will find that you really have. The same is true with the other examples. By appreciating others, you will find people appreciating you more. By sharing your money, you will find it coming to you from unexpected sources. It’s amazing how it works.

This information is well backed in the Bible. “A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed” Proverbs 11:25. “Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap” Luke 6:38. These are just some of the many verses that stress the importance and benefits of generosity.

A key concept is to avoid doing things for others simply because you want to be blessed yourself. Don’t go seeking the blessing. When you do for others, you will atomatically have it done for you. Besides, there is the verse in Matthew 25 where Jesus says, whatever you do for the least of these people you do for me. You are doing it for Him and His glory. You will be blessed as a result. In addition, think of how you feel when you give to someone else. Doesn’t it feel great? That great feeling will give you more positive energy, and you will feel like you can do more with your time. The desire to give to others simply becomes natural.

Today, think of what you can do for someone else. Think especially of what it is that you are seeking in your life. Then give as much as you can of it to someone else. You will see major blessings for them, and especially in your own life. I encourage you to make it happen. Please share your results : )
