Subliminal Success

January 4, 2013

I have recently become intrigued by the concept of subliminal videos. If you are not familiar with subliminal videos, they are videos which show hidden messages. Usually they are positive affirmations that quickly flash on the screen before you can read them or even see them. Some of these messages are also embedded into an audio format, such as ocean waves, thunderstorms, or a fire.

What is the purpose of subliminal videos and audios? And do they work? The purpose of subliminal affirmations is to positively affect the subconscious mind by repeating positive messages over and over again. You may ask, “can’t this be done by self-talk or just reading these messages? Yes, but the problem is this…in many cases your subconscious is so full of negative messages that, when it sees something positive, it doesn’t believe it. For example, suppose you are fully convinced that you are not intelligent. If someone were to tell you that you’re smart, you may think something like, “yeah right”. You don’t believe it, and it doesn’t get through to the subconscious. That’s where subliminal messages are helpful. The positive messages come through and are not stopped by negative thinking. Instead, the positive messages get through to the subconscious. When the subconscious hears and sees something enough, the negative thoughts that embedded are replaced with the positive thoughts you want to have. Eventually, you begin to act on those positive thoughts.

Do subliminal messages work? I am one who believes they do. However, in order to be effective, you need to watch and listen on a regular basis. Once is not enough. Subliminal videos and audios work best when watched on a daily basis for weeks at a time. That allows the positive messages to displace the negative ideas buried deep in the subconscious.

There are many subliminal videos that are available, depending on the area of your life you are trying to change. I choose one in particular to share here  for several reasons. This one is only 8 minutes long, so it doesn’t take a great deal of time. It also provides positive messages about several topics, such as wealth, sales, confidence, and positive thinking. The video messages are subliminal. The audio is not, but it provides very helpful information to back up the visual  messages. I strongly suggest you give it a try. Please let me know what you think. Have an excellent day!

Affirm Belief

December 9, 2012

All things are possible to him who believes – Mark 9:23

The above quote is easily one of my favorites in the Bible. It also comes from one of my favorite stories in the New Testament. A man asks Jesus to heal his son “if he can”. Jesus questions him..”if I can”? like..are you kidding me? Don’t you know I can do anything?

As much as I enjoy the above story, there are many times where it hits me right between the eyes. There are many times where I pray “if you can” prayers. There are other times where I lack the faith needed to make all things possible.

A question I’ve often asked and you may be asking right now is..how do I change this? How do I develop the belief necessary to make all things possible? I have found that there are two main ways..

  1. Ask – Simply ask God for it. This has always been a bit ironic for me. I’m supposed to ask God for things with the faith that He’ll do it. So how can I actually ask Him for faith? Sounds weird, but He is ready and willing to help us increase our faith. In the story above, after Jesus rebukes the man’s “if you can” statement and says all things are possible, the man asks Him for this very faith to make all things possible. In the next verse he specifically asks, “please help me overcome my unbelief!”
  2. Positive affirmations – Besides divine help, I am convinced God has given us the will and ability to help ourselves. I also believe he expects us to use it. One way I’ve learned to do this is by positive affirmations. I often discuss the benefits of positive affirmations on this blog. If you don’t already know, they are simple positive statements you say to yourself over and over until you begin to believe it. These statements can be extremely simple. For example, in his book “The Power of Positive Thinking”, Norman Vincent Peale says the best way to stop worrying and have faith is to simply say to yourself, “I believe” over and over and over again. If you think it doesn’t work, then try it. I have used this technique many times in stressful situations, and in some cases it’s as if the stress magically disappears. Other simple phrases work just as well, especially other Bible verses like the one I began this article with.

The bottom line is that the more your brain hears these statements, you feel the corresponding emotion, and take inspired action, you believe it. These thoughts then become part of you and your being. These thoughts replace the thoughts of worry and unbelief. What happens next is that it affects the action you take. In fact, if you let unbelief linger you often take no action because you are afraid of failure. When your mind is full of faithful thoughts, you instead are convinced of success and will take the action quickly to make it happen.

If you want the results you are seeking in life, affirm belief and faith. Say it and see it in your mind. Then watch it unfold on the big screen of your life. The coolest thing is that, once you see these positive results, it only increases your level of belief, and more great things happen. Believe me, I can totally affirm that this is true. Enjoy the blessings : )

7 Excellent Positive Affirmation Tips

August 20, 2012

Ok, I’ll admit it. Yes, that was me you saw talking to myself as I was stopped at the red light. But it’s ok. I’m not losing it, going crazy, or anything like that. I was telling myself great things that I need to hear, and I need to believe.

You may recognize this as positive affirmations. I discuss the topic often at this site. It is a very effective way to replace negative beliefs held deep in your subconscious with positve, uplifting ones.

What am I supposed to say, you ask? Whatever you need to believe. Is it more confidence you seek? Remind yourself how much you have. Trying to be a better friend? Remind yourself of how you are a valuable person whose company is a treat.

There are many ways to incorporate positive affirmations into your day. Today, I will share some helpful tips from an article I read recently. It provides excellent information on how to use positive affirmations. I will share the link at the end of the post:

  1. Make all statements positive. No negatives.
  2. Use present tense, as if you already have what you are seeking. Avoid using future tense statements.
  3. Use affirmations that create positive emotions.
  4. Don’t worry about any resistance you may be receiving from your subconscious mind.
  5. Have fun with this!
  6. Once you have said the affirmations several times move on and do something else.
  7. Be patient. You may not see immediate results, but be persistent and you will begin to see the changes you seek.

It is amazing how powerful affirmations can be. I will sometimes be reminded to use them at points in my day when I am struggling. As a result, my thoughts are immediately shifted from negative to positive, and the day changes for the better. Follow the guidelines listed above, and you will be pleasantly surprised by the results. Enjoy the blessings : )

10 Ways To Increase Your Confidence

August 8, 2012

I have done an extensive study into the power of the mind to enhance the quality of life. One of the most helpful resources I’ve encountered is the book, “The Power of Positive Thinking”, by Norman Vincent Peale. The book is loaded with information to help increase positivity and power. He also provides simple, easy to use action steps to carry out in order to reach your desired goals.

One of my favorite parts of this powerful book is a list of tips to increase self-confidence. I can testify first-hand that these steps work if used on a regular basis. As mentioned, they are simple, logical, and easy to carry out. Here are the 10 steps:

  1. Hold a picture of you succeeding in your mind. In every situation, view yourself as successful, and avoid doubting the success that you are seeing. Instead, hold onto it and continually watch these scenes of success.
  2. Whenever a negative thought about yourself enters your mind, immediately replace it with a positive one. Be sure not to fight the negative thoughts. That only seems to make it worse. Instead, acknowledge it, but remind yourself that the positive thought is the real truth about yourself, and let it gradually take over.
  3. Do not build up obstacles in your mind. Deal with them accordingly, but instead of seeing them as mountains, see them as a temporary challenge that will only increase your confidence and character.
  4. Be your best self. Avoid comparing yourself to others.
  5. At least 10 times a day, affirm “God is for me so no one can be against me” (Romans 8:31).
  6. Seek help when you need it. No one ever said you have to do everything on your own. Know that people are there to help, and utilize their services.
  7. At least 10 times a day, affirm, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philipians 4:13). This is an extremely powerful statement, the most helpful for me. When this is drilled into your head, you will feel virtually unstoppable,
  8. Make a true estimate of your ability, then raise it 10%. Do your part the best you can, then let God help you go above and beyond.
  9. Affirm the following, “I am completely in God’s hands. Then actually put yourself there, knowing He is fully in control. His outcomes are better than anything you can come up with.
  10. Believe that you now and constantly receive power from God.

Honestly, how difficult are these to do? They don’t take much time, and when done consistently, they put your mind in a positive, powerful state, helping you firmly believe you can accomplish anything. I certainly recommend you take a few minutes a day to affirm and visualize these thoughts. As always, I would love to hear about how this information helps you. Have an excellent day : )

3 Positive Affirmation Steps

April 21, 2012

Positive affirmations are a great way to maintain a positive frame of mind. However, many people overcomplicate this process, thinking there is a scientific way of doing them, and it takes a great deal of time.

Using positive affirmation is actually a very simple process. I recently read an article by Terri Cole that shows how simple this process is. Here are simple 3 steps she provides:

  1. Create a well-formed belief statement. Well-formed means using short, positive phrases in the first person, present tense. These phrases should be powerful enough to create positive emotions.
  2. Repeat the phrases every day, preferably at the same time each day.
  3. Use the affirmations especially when negative thoughts begin creeping back into your head. Use the positive affirmations to counter the negative thoughts.

The process is not much more difficult than that. Terri provides some examples in her article. I have attached a link to the article here. The bottom line is to keep feeding your mind with these positive thoughts. You will begin to believe these concepts and ultimately act them out. Then you will see them play out in your life. Enjoy the blessings : )

A Crazy Man’s Way To Rapid Manifestation

April 14, 2012

I have read many different articles and books that talk about using the Law of Attraction to manifest the things we desire in life. Before I go further, I will say that I am one who doesn’t often talk about the Law of Attraction. I strongly believe in it and know that it can add a great deal to our lives. However, as a Christian, I believe it is ultimately God that brings us the blessings we are seeking in life, and I am not big on using this law to attract a Mercedes, million-dollar home, etc.

Upon saying that, I will again say that this is a powerful law, one we can use to enhance the quality of our lives and the lives of those around us. If you’ve read some of the popular books on the topic, like “The Secret”, you will know that some people have come up with a number of different strategies to create the positive feelings that make the law work.

I decided to take this to the test the other day. It’s a bit crazy, but it’s helped me already, and I welcome you to try it too. I was feeling a bit down as the beautiful tax return I had received was gone before I knew it, and we couldn’t even use it all as we had planned. I decided then that drastic measures had to be taken. What I decided to do was take the amount of money I desire to earn this year ($120,000) and broadcast the fact that I was receiving it. I was driving, and as each car on the road passed by I said the following to them…”God is giving me $120,000″. Anyone I saw walking on the side of the road…same thing. Then I went into the supermarket. What do you think? No, I didn’t have the guts to actually tell these people I was receiving $120,000. I don’t want anyone else (besides me and my readers) thinking I am crazy, but in my imagination, I did tell these people about my new wealth.

At first, I thought I had officially flipped. However, as I continued to do this, I realized it was following many of the Law of Attraction manifestation guidelines. Here are some examples…first, a great deal of the Law is based on feeling. I was only going to make my situation worse by feeling bad about my lack of money. Instead, I was having fun with this! As a result, I was creating good feelings about money that were replacing the bad. Another positive factor was affirmation. It’s a fact that the more we tell ourselves something, the more we believe it. I was actually beginning to create the belief and convince myself that this money was coming my way. Here’s another fact. As a teacher, I have researched that the best way for my students to retain knowledge is to share it with someone else. I set up activities regularly which enable them to do this. In this case, I was doing the same thing. I was sharing with others that I was receiving this money. Even though it was only imaginary,  this was helping engrain it into my mind. Once again I was beginning to believe it more and more. I was feeling the feeling of having this money now.

Those are some examples of effective Law of Attraction guidelines that were being followed by this exercise. It was also amazing how my whole demeanor changed because of this. I was walking around with a smile on my face as I was enjoying this. As a result, some people that passed me by in the store actually smiled back. And they didn’t know what I was thinking, so I don’t think it’s because they thought I was crazy! I honestly think it’s because they felt the positive vibrations.

You may now be asking…Joe, what’s the bottom line? Did this work? I will say that I’ve never been more convinced of the power of this great law. No, I haven’t yet received $120,000. However, in the three days, since I began doing this, I received the opportunity to earn $75 extra dollars that I hadn’t planned on receiving. Another powerful part of the Law of Attraction is gratitude. Believe me, I expressed major gratitude after this which continued the positive feelings.

So why not try it? You don’t have to do it exactly like this, but why not have fun in proclaiming a victory you are looking for, whether it be financial help, better health, more fulfilling relationships, or anything. Before it happens, give God the credit, and tell as many people as you can either for real or hiding in your car. Enjoy proclaiming victory, create positive feelings, create faith, and be ready for opportunities to capitalize on making it a reality. Be thankful for every small victory, you will see your success accelerate, and your desires will manifest rapidly.

There was an old song that asked…aint it great to be crazy? I say sometimes it is. Enjoy the blessings : )

10 Positive Ways To Start Your Day

April 8, 2012

There are few things more important in life’s events than getting off to a good start. This especially true for each day we live. In most cases, the better the day starts, the better it ends up.

It would be nice if we had control of the start of our day, wouldn’t it? I am here to tell you that we do have full control over how we start our day. We can deliberately think positive thoughts and take postive actions to ensure that our days go smoothly.

One effective way to start our day is by using positive affirmations. That is, repeating positive phrases to ourselves. This is effective because it sets a positive tone for the day. It also engrains positive messages into the subconscious, resulting in greater confidence and positivity.

I recently read an article called, “10 Positive Declarations You Should Whisper to Yourself Each Morning”. Here are the 10 suggested declarations:

  1. I love my life.
  2. My thoughts create my reality.
  3. I am grateful.
  4. I choose to be happy.
  5. Smile
  6. I am worthy.
  7. The opinions of others don’t matter
  8. I am kind.
  9. I live in this moment.
  10. Breathe deeply.

These affirmations may seem simple, but they can have a powerful impact. Not only are they effective at the beginning of the day, but they can also be used throughout the day to help maintain a positive frame of mind. I strongly suggest you try and use them. I have included the link to the entire article. Enjoy the blessings : )

Positive Affirmations List

February 26, 2012

I have often shared about the importance of positive affirmations. In case you are not familiar, positive affirmations are words or phrases we repeat to ourselves to positively impact our subconscious mind. When your subconscious mind is bombarded with positive messages, it believes them. The result is an extreme faith upon the individual that they can change a negative habit, become a better person, and that any goal can be successfully accomplished.

There is much helpful information about using positive affirmations to take our lives to a higher level. I have found an excellent blog article that includes many positive affirmations for different areas of life. These affirmations have helped me, and I felt the need to share with my readers. Enjoy the blessings : )

I Can Do It!

February 21, 2012

Do you ever wish there were certain words you could say to inspire yourself in every situation? Some of you may already have them. If you do, I recommend you continue to use those words. However, if you are looking for a way to inspire yourself, eliminate fears, and increase yourself, this information may help.

I found a video the other day by Brian Tracy. In this one minute video, he simply suggests that we repeat the phrase “I can do it” to ourselves repeatedly for any situation that we need the faith to excell. Too many times we don’t take the necessary steps to accomplish our goals and dreams. Why is that? One simple word…fear. We are afraid to move forward, mainly because we feel like we can’t do it. We can’t imagine ourselves being successful.

We can change the patterns of fear by following the advice in this video. By constantly saying “I can”, we eliminate those thoughts and feelings that we can’t, and replace them with thoughts of confidence and the ability to accomplish the goal. Instead of envisioning failure, we imagine ourselves succeeding. When our minds our filled with these positive thoughts, we confidently take the necessary action we need to take instead of procrastinating on the sidelines.

It’s amazing how simple words and thoughts can change our outlook. That’s why this video is so helpful. The simple words “I can” repeated to ourselves constantly will help us truly believe we can accomplish what we set out to do. Try it, and you will be amazed. A Great Way To Improve Your Focus

November 15, 2011

As I begin to write this article, I am hearing voices in my head. No, I don’t think I am going crazy (yet). I am hearing the voices of my wife, parents and past teachers. They are all telling me the same thing they always did when they told me something important.

What did they say? I’ll share in a moment. Before I do, I will say that this same advice is very helpful in several ways when it comes to assisting us in reaching our goals. Here’s the advice…write it down!!!

I have seen the importance of writing things down. First, when we write our to-do list down, it helps us know exactly what we need to do. For those like me who often forget, it helps us to remember. However, I have found that it goes beyond this. For some reason there is power in seeing something in writing. For example, it is very helpful to state our affirmations and intentions for the things we want to accomplish. If you want to add some extra power to them, write them down, and then affirm them. It is very effective. There is also power in visualizing our goals being achieved, and feeling the corresponding emotion. Recently, I was challenged to actually provide a written description of this vision and corresponding feeling. I have done it for a few days now, and it definitely adds power to the desire and belief of my goals being realized.

If you are looking to add focus to accomplishing your goals, I recommend you write down your goals, affirmations, visualizations, feelings, and courses of action. It is a powerful and effective way to bring about the desired results much faster. I will share the link below (it’s from the same author in the link I provided in my previous post) which provides an example of writing down our affirmations. I believe writing things down can be great help in getting you to where you want to be. Enjoy the blessings : )
