There Is No Maybe In Faith

July 10, 2014

We all want to increase our faith, right? I believe the answer is obvious, and I join you in saying a resounding YES!

The problem is that as some people travel this road to greater faith, I hear another word that creates a major obstacle, causing  them to stumble and impede the progress they were making. That word is…maybe.

How many times do you hear it? Maybe I can get that job I’ve been wanting. Maybe I can fit into that dress or suit by next month. Maybe we’ll have the money by then. The list goes on and on. You don’t always hear the maybe word. Others like perhaps, might, and possibly also find their way into our conversations.

If you are seeking to increase your faith, those words cannot be part of the equation. I know because I see it in my own life. When I use the words maybe, it would be nice, etc., I am basically telling God that I don’t want what He has promised. He is not like the parent who says maybe simply because they cannot make up their mind at the time. He is fully ready and willing to provide the miracle we are seeking.

When I reflect on this, I am reminded of the verse in James which says “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.  That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.  Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do”. What does double-minded mean? According to another translation of the same verse, it means divided between the world and God. In a nutshell, believing in the world’s standards means focusing on limits, obstacles, and the way people say things should be. When we say maybe, we are trying to have faith in God, but still holding on to the world’s limits at the same time.

How do you solve this? Single-minded faith. Being single-minded means focusing on what God can do, which is anything and everything. Don’t worry about what might happen, how it will happen, or what people might say or how they will react. And don’t worry if you don’t see it right away because You Don’t Have to See it To Believe It. Instead think like your wish is an imminent occurrence. Say things like that job is mine; I will look great in that dress or suit; What are we going to do with all of that money? You are not being unrealistic saying things like this. In fact, you are being more realistic because if you demonstrate that single-minded faith, it is much more likely that God will make it happen than you lacking money, work, or good health.

I challenge myself and you my reader to think like this consistently. If you haven’t thought this way in the past, it will take some practice. Saying these things and training yourself to think this way is great practice. Like anything else, if you do it enough it becomes habit, and once this single-minded faith becomes a habit, it will be your life.

What is your top desire? Have faith, pray, and know that it is in the process of coming true starting now. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

I Am Already….

July 8, 2014

We all want to accomplish goals and rapidly manifest our desires, true? I have a long list of these, as well as a list of qualities and characteristics I want to become as a person. If only I could be that person now.

Please allow me to share a fact that was drilled into my head three times in a 12 hour period yesterday from three different sources (that’s when I know for sure God is speaking loudly to me)…I AM ALREADY THAT PERSON.

I will share the same news with you…YOU ARE ALREADY THE PERSON YOU WANT TO BE. I will add that you already have everything you want to have. Now, I can already hear some of the responses. Really? I don’t see it. I don’t feel it. You must be crazy.

If I were you I might think that too. Until recently anyway. I am learning more and more that we are and we have everything because the spirit of God is within us. And since God is everything good, we are a part of that. What we have or don’t have in our lives is simply the measure of how much we believe this concept.

All three people I read and listened to yesterday had this same message that I take from Neville Goddard and his book “The Power of Awareness” “All is yours. Do not go seeking for that which you are. Appropriate it, claim it, assume it. Everything depends upon your concept of yourself. That which you do not claim as true of yourself cannot be realized by you”.

The message I’m receiving loud and clear is that, instead of striving to become what I want to be and accomplish what I want to accomplish, it is more important to be thankful and cherish the fact that I already am that which I want to be and have. Another quote from the same chapter of the book above says… “Be still and know that you are that which you desire to be, and you will never have to search for it”. The more you can focus on the fact that, due to God’s spirit and presence in you, all you desire to be and have is already a part of you. The more you focus on this fact, the more it becomes reality.

Please understand I am not advising that we give up acting towards our goals. The last thing we can do is think, believe, then sit back and watch things happen. When we focus on the fact that we already are and already have, it seems that ideas for action come much more readily. Then it’s just a matter of acting on those ideas. Also, instead of taking desperate action in hopes that we maybe get what we strive for, we are taking confident steps knowing that the action we are taking is only enhancing the greatness that we already are.

This is not a new concept for me. However, it is a different take that seems to simplify it and make it more real for me, especially since I know for a fact God shot this directly in my direction. This may or may not be a new concept for you. Either way, I ask you to consider it. Reflect on the fact that God loves you beyond measure, and is part of your very being. As a result, He shares His knowledge, power, and all positive attributes with you. Go through your day with the assurance that you already are and already have what you are seeking. Say I am already…and fill in the blank with what you desire. Feel the joy of knowing this, share it with others, and do what you can do to maximize this love, power, and light in your life, spending as much time being thankful for all that you are and for what God has given you. You will see immediate blessings as a result. Enjoy 🙂

Independence Day

July 4, 2014

Every 4th of July here in the United States we celebrate Independence Day. I admit that I am not the most patriotic person, but in the past few years I have really come to appreciate what the day stands for. It represents the time in our history where we moved away from the people and things that held us back from moving ahead in our God-given destiny.

I share a video here with you not because I feel like rocking out on this 4th of July, but it represents the exact description of what the day represents. As it applies to your country, I recommend you apply it to your life. Let it be a reminder to free yourself from the people, doubts, and bondages that are holding you back from moving ahead to your God-given destiny.

Let today be your Independence Day. As the song says…

Let the rockets blaze across the sky
Raise the flag of faith up high
Let the doubters call it what they may
It’s independence day

Enjoy the blessings 🙂

Why Not Me?

July 3, 2014

The above title is a question that is revolving in my mind lately. I think about it for the goals I have in all areas of my life.

There are people positively impacting thousands of people a day through blogs, books, speaking. Why not me?

There are people enjoying financial freedom, able to help themselves and many others with their resources. Why not me?

There are people with abundant energy all the time. Why not me?

There are people working their dream jobs, with great flexibility of schedule. Why not me?

There are people leading their families to greatness. Why not me?

The list can go on. I am not writing this to complain or be jealous about what I don’t have. In fact, I have at least a little bit of all of the desires I mentioned here. I just haven’t completely reached the level that I want to be at.

The main reason I consider this, is that I feel like God is asking me this question. We often believe we are not worthy to receive what we are seeking. However, I believe God has me asking myself in regards to my greatest desires, why not me?

Are you fighting this same battle today? Do you see others enjoying what you want and feeling like it will never happen for you? If so, I challenge you to ask this question…why not me? Ask a few times, then play the picture in your mind of having the very things you desire (I recommend trying this 5 step visualization process). Feel the corresponding joy, and believe you are just as worthy of having this as anyone else in the world. Once you believe this, it will inspire you to take the action to make it happen. Then the fun starts. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

Increase Your Expectation

July 2, 2014

I start with a couple of stories to prove the point of today’s post… I was somehow reminded of a period of my life where I had problems finding dates. I was an attractive, intelligent male, yet I had difficulty finding females that were interested in going out with me. One day, I heard a friend complaining that he hadn’t had a date in over a week. You can guess my reaction. A week?! It’s been months for me and I see no end in sight to this drought.

Another time in my life I was just starting in my career and my income was low. I was at a party and the low life, drunk husband of one my co-workers was advising us about careers. He told us…”don’t go for any of those $40,000 jobs. You’re not going anywhere in life unless you’re making at least $75,000″. There was also another time in my life where income was low. A millionaire investor friend of mine was visiting and we met with a friend of his. This other friend was concerned and seeking ways to ensure he could maintain his lifestyle (already making hundreds of thousands of dollars).

What’s the point of these stories? They are reminders to me about the concept of expectation. I was having problems meeting and dating women. I had no expectation that this would end, so months without a date didn’t phase me. The other person’s level of expectation was different. He EXPECTED to be dating on a regular basis and was out of sorts that it had been a whole week without the company of a female. I’ll give you one guess as to who had the next date. wasn’t me.

Going back to the drunk and obnoxious husband, he had a point. How could he say not to go for $40,000? My friends and I all agreed that we would dance in the streets for $40,000. If we strive for it, eventually we would receive it. However, the lesson I’ve learned is that if we strive for the $75,000 we would ultimately receive that. So why not shoot for the top? Same with the investor. He saw nothing less than a hundred thousand dollar lifestyle as an option. He was expecting this income and nothing less.

The lesson that I remind you of (as well as myself) is that we receive according to our level of expectation. Jesus Himself said, “according to your faith it is done to you”. He also said that if you believe you already have what you want, you will receive it. If you are single and you expect a date every week, you will rarely be alone. If you expect to make $100,000 instead of $50,000 you will receive it. If you expect to run 5 miles instead of 1, you will accomplish it.

The bottom line is that if you want more in your life you need to raise your level of expectation. God has an unlimited supply available, and He is waiting for you to ask for it. See… How To Increase Your Blessings – Get a Bigger Container for more information about this. Know that you are worthy and you can have what you desire. Simply have this faith, pray for it, and see it as already yours. EXPECT that you will receive it and you will. Enjoy the blessings 🙂

God and Negativity

July 1, 2014

Is there anything you can’t do? You don’t have to answer this question because I already know the answer. I believe you know my answer as well.

I don’t have a problem admitting that there are many things I can’t do. The problem is when I transfer this mindset to God’s ability. Due to the fact that I am incapable with many things, I still sometimes keep my mind in the mentality of limitation, forgetting that our God has NO LIMITS!!

I was reminded again the other day…in God’s eyes there is no such thing as lack. Limitation and lack are only illusions we place in our own minds. Negative outcomes are caused because instead of focusing on God’s provision, we focus on the negative ideas of our own minds.

The good news is we have full control of this. I challenge myself and you my reader to focus on what God can do. Instead of setting limits, focusing on lack, and dwelling on negative possibilities, let us seek God, summon His unlimited power, and dwell on the fact that He is readily willing to provide abundantly more than we seek or ask. The possibilities are unlimited! Enjoy the blessings 🙂
