How To Pray Effectively In Two Seconds Or Less

September 26, 2013

We are all familiar with the power of prayer. Miracles have happened, simply because people prayed and believed.

My question is, if it’s so easy to do and we are all aware of the wonderful power prayer brings, why do so many people avoid doing it? There are two main reasons I can think of. One is that they simply don’t know how or don’t know what to say. This can be intimidating for those who don’t know they can talk freely to a God that is always listening. The second reason is that they don’t make the time. Life gets busy, and prayer gets put on the back burner until it eventually gets squeezed out of the daily schedule.

I will say that I understand both of the above reasons, although I strongly believe that it is extremely important to put aside some time for prayer. The solution I present takes care of both problems. It is pre-scripted and it takes seconds. Ready?….here’s the simple, yet powerful prayer you can say in a second or two….Thank you!

Too many people think they have to bring a long list of requests to the prayer table or prepare  a sophisticated presentation in order for prayer to be effective. However, nothing can be further from the truth. When you are short on things to say and pressed for time, just say thank you. If you want to extend your prayer longer than a few seconds, think of several things that you are thankful for and make that your prayer. A simple “thank you for…” will do wonders.

When you are thankful and express your gratitude to God, you are setting yourself up for greater blessings. You are being faithful in the little things, and will be given even greater things to be thankful for. Also, a feeling of gratitude affects your life in so many other ways, such as feeling more peaceful, positive, confident, and loving just to name a few.

The next time you are not sure how or when to pray, take a few minutes and simply say thank you for the blessings in your life. It is time well spent. Besides the blessings you will see added to your life, you will look forward to more of this gratitude time because it will eventually become natural, and a regularly scheduled part of your day.

I will follow  this advice with you, my cherished reader. I need to leave quickly, so I will say…thank you for reading : )

Do You Really Believe?

September 22, 2013

Abraham Lincoln once said, “to believe in the things you can see and touch is no belief at all; but to believe in the unseen is a triumph and a blessing”.

It’s difficult to believe in things you can’t see or haven’t experienced, isn’t it? I don’t blame you if you are having difficulty. However, that is what faith is all about. The Biblical definition of faith is the confidence of things hoped for and the assurance about what we do not see (Hebrews 11:1). It’s pretty much the same thing…believing in something you don’t see.

When you can believe in the unseen, that’s when miracles start to happen. That’s when your dreams start coming true. Once again I understand that this is often difficult. I recommend two things you can do. They have helped me and I share them with you. The first is to simply pray for God’s help. It may feel weird praying for the faith that you are already supposed to have, but God will certainly help you. Second, visualize what you want to happen and being the person you want to be. The more you visualize, the more you will automatically begin to believe your desire as already coming true, and the more likely you will take the steps to make it happen.

Too many times, people don’t believe, simply because they base their faith on what they currently see. They see a low bank account, an unfit body, an unsatisfying job or relationship. Please know that what you want already exists in the spiritual realm. This is what you need to put your faith in. In many cases, God is just waiting for you to believe before He releases it to to you in the physical world. it won’t happen until you really believe. So do you?

How to Find Peace From Within

September 19, 2013

I can tell you from experience that these excellent suggestions work wonders for adding more peace to your life and removing stress and worry.

The New Age Source Blog

Is it really possible to find peace within yourself, not for just fleeting moments, but real lasting peace? Actually, yes it is. Inner peace is a series of choices and habits that can be recognized, developed and put to use whenever you need.  Imagine yourself able to let go and completely relax at will.

Positive Thinking

Did you know optimists are far better at recognizing new opportunities and staying motivated to reach their goals? They often excel in life, not because they have super-human skills or strengths, but because they have a strong faith in themselves that fuels their drive and determination.  This allows the universal laws to work through them and with them, to manifest their goals and dreams. Positive thinking is the primary component of inner peace. When you feel good about yourself and your ability to handle situations in life, inner peace and calm is…

Share What You Have

September 18, 2013

I just want to provide a reminder for you. The very Spirit of God dwells in you. That means you already possess all the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and self control you can imagine.  It also means you are connected to everything and everyone in the universe. Once again…whatever it is…you already have it!

Knowing this, I challenge you to share as much as this love and light with as many people as you can today. It doesn’t have to be anything major. You can share your joy with a simple smile. You can share your love with a simple act of service. Think about how you can share any of these spiritual gifts, then do what you are inspired to do. It will make someone’s day, and yours too. Enjoy the blessings : )

Powerful Advice That Will Serve You Well

September 17, 2013

If you want love you’ve got to give a little

If you want faith just believe a little

If you want peace turn your cheek a little

You’ve got to give, you’ve got to give to live.

The above lyrics come from one of my favorite 80s songs, “Give to Live”, by Sammy Hagar. I share it because I have been reminded of this message on several occasions lately. Again, I take that as a sign that God is trying to tell me something.

What is He trying to tell me? I believe the message is that if you want something really bad, He expects you to give it away first. Give to others what you are seeking yourself.

It makes sense according to the law of sowing and reeping (or the Law of Attraction). In essence, you get what you give. If you think positive thoughts, you receive positive results. This takes it a step further in saying that when you take positive actions, you receive positive outcomes and responses.

This law is so simple, yet how many people ignore it? I say this because even though I am aware of how this works, I still fall into the same trap. Sometimes the simplicity of it actually scares people away. Other times, we just get so caught up in doubt and negativity that it clouds our thinking from faith and positivity.

I ask you now…what is it you want most in life? Is it happines? Then go make someone happy. Is it more time for yourself? First spend some time serving someone else. Is it more money? Start by sharing some money with a charity or someone who needs it more than you.

Whatever it is you are most desperately seeking, find a way to serve and give it to someone else. Please don’t do it with the intent on receiving back, because that defeats the whole purpose. Instead, do it without even thinking about it. Do it for the great feeling you receive knowing you helped someone else in need. I have found from experience that when you give this way, it not only comes back to you, but it arrives in more and better ways than you can ever think of.

I challenge you to give away what you want most today. I promise that you won’t be wanting it for much longer because you will have it in abundance. Enjoy the blessings : )

How To Find What You Are Looking For

September 15, 2013

There are not many things that bother me in life. Fortunately, I have been blessed with an even keel, go with the flow attitude, and I’ve been gifted with a great deal of patience (some times too much patience).

One of the only things that gets my blood boiling (besides those driving under the speed limit in the passing lane) is when I can’t find something I need at the moment. If you want to see things fly, hear things you shouldn’t hear, and watch a grown man act like a two year old, come see me when I am looking for something I can’t find.

I am not proud of the above actions, but I know many others who desperately want to find what they are looking for (even though they do it in a much more mature manner than me). It does get frustrating when you can’t find what you want or need, whether it’s the TV remote, a life partner, a dream job, or whatever you are looking for.

I have been reminded a lot lately (that’s when I know God is speaking to me) that we already have everything we are looking for, and there is only one place to look for it. I will wait a few seconds as your head stops spinning. However, it is true, even though you are saying that you don’t yet see your desired significant other or dream job or full bank account.

Here’s the deal. Everything you can ever think of already exists in the spiritual realm. Every desire or need is already in existence. So answer number two…where do I find it? Here’s a key that’s really provided peace and power for me lately. You find the power to achieve what you want…WITHIN. As in within yourself.

When you seek your desire, look within yourself. There you will find the Spirit that created everything. The spirit within you is the same spirit that is within everyone and everything else. In essence, you are already connected to everyone and everything in the universe.

Here is why it is so important to look within instead of going to the external…the spirit of God is within you. When you seek answers within, you are literally seeking the God who has all the answers to everything. Submit to this spiritual guidance and you can only be led to where you want and need to go. When you seek the external, you are at the mercy of many circumstances you can’t control. That often leads to frustration, and being led further from the desired result instead of closer to it.

All of the answers to all of your questions are right there within you. To find those answers as quickly as possible, I recommend taking times throughout your day to just stop, be still, and seek the answers you are looking for. Sometimes it’s best to quietly wait and listen, while other times it’s best to pray, ask, and seek. I recommend you do whatever feels right at the moment.

You may say, I don’t have time throughout the day to stop and pray/meditate. My response is that you don’t have time not to. The more time you spend taking small breaks meditating on God and the spirit within, the more time and energy you will find to act and move towards your goal. It’s a win-win situation.

I remind you again that you CAN find what you are looking for. Look within right here, right now. It’s there waiting for you. Enjoy the blessings : )

Present Moment Focus That Controls Your Future

September 13, 2013

What are you thinking right now? Seriously spend a whole minute thinking about your thoughts right now. Again I ask…what are you thinking?

Do you know the thoughts you are thinking now determine your future? I’ve known this fact for a long time, yet I am still reminded of it on a regular basis. And I know that knowing it and doing it are completely different things.

Once again I remind you that if you think mostly positive thoughts in the present moment, you will have mostly positive experiences in the future. Of course, the oppsite is also true. I recommend you take regular times during the day to focus completely on the present moment. Pay attention to the thoughts you are thinking and the emotions you are feeling. The more you live in the present moment, the more you will be able to correct any negatives in these areas, and you will have greater control of the way you handle the events that occur during your day. The more you do this, the easier it will be to keep your focus on the present moment and maintain this great control.

Remember that, although you can learn from it, you cannot control the past. Although you can plan for it, the future hasn’t arrived yet and you can do nothing in future tense. However, you have absolute control of the present. Maintain your focus squarely on this moment, and you have all the control you can ask for. Fear disappears, and greater happiness is achieved because you are enjoying the moment instead of stressing over ones that haven’t even arrived yet. I can go on and on about the benefits of present moment focus, but I will just kee things simple for now.

Do you want a positive and exciting future? It happens by living a joyful, positive, and productive life NOW. Keep your focus and control on this moment and you will experience the greatness you are seeking. Remember, the present is a gift. Receive it now, and live in its constant joy. Enjoy the blessings : )
