A Funny Way To Produce A Natural High

June 20, 2013

It would be great if we could put ourselves in a constant state of high emotion, wouldn’t it? The good news is that we all have the ability to accomplish this.

There are many different things we can do to maintain a high, positive emotional state. One of the greatest in my opinion is laughter. Don’t you always feel better and more positive after a great laugh? It is even medically proven that certain chemicals are released in the body as a result of laughter, and even just smiling. Knowing that we have control of the state of our emotions, and laughter makes us feel better and happier…what are you waiting for?

I understand things get busy in life, and there are times where things get so difficult that you are in absolutely no mood to smile and laugh. I have reflected at times and realized I haven’t laughed much or at all in a period of several days or more. However, I have learned that there is always room for laughter, and that we simply cannot let days go by without it, regardless of the circumstances. In fact, consistent laughter is a great way to change many of the circumstances in life.

As I thought about this, I came up with 3 main ways to increase the amount of laughter in my life:

  1. Remember old funny times – I often look back at some of the funniest moments in life. It brings back pleasant memories, and it’s a great way to get to a positive state of mind.
  2. Find and watch funny things now – There are scenes from some of my favorite TV shows (Honeymooners, Happy Days, All in the Family, Seinfeld, The Office) that I can watch over and over and still convulse in laughter. In addition, with the availability of YouTube and other video sources, there are countless clips you can watch from movies, comedians, or wherever. I recommend you seek the ones you like, then watch and laugh.
  3. Use your imagination – Some think I’m a bit crazy for this one, but as a kid I would often imagine funny situations that never actually happened, but had me laughing breathlessly. Think you can’t do this as an adult? Once I was overly tense for a job interview. I needed something to break the tension. On my way there, I thought of a very funny “what if” situation and laughed heartily all the way there (if that was you in the car next to me, I swear I am really not crazy). As a result, I was very loose and positive for the interview and aced it. I believe it’s one of the reasons I got that first teaching job.

It is totally true that laughter is the best medicine. The good thing is that it’s free, limitless, and you can’t overdose on it. I strongly recommend you use it. Your attitude will be positive, and your emotions will run high. When your mind is positive and your emotions are at their highest, there is no stopping you. Miracles will occur, and you will be laughing all the way to the bank. Enjoy the blessings : )

You Deserve It

June 17, 2013

I was reading a portion of a book earlier today. It described a certain quality some people have. I did not want to be associated with this description. In the past I may have fit the description it provides. Even now, on some of my worst days, I may let this negative feeling slip in.

Here is the quote from the book…”Many good things are lost because you didn’t ask. Many splendid things are lost to you because of your feeling that you are unworthy of them. Many great things are lost to you because you lack the confidence and courage to demand and take possession of them” (The Law of Attraction”, by William Walker Atkinson, Chapter XV).

These are strong words, wouldn’t you say? As I mentioned, I don’t want to be known as someone who fits this description. Hopefully you don’t either. If not, then I challenge you to focus on this thought…NOTHING IS TOO GOOD FOR YOU.

You may be thinking…I’ve made many mistakes. I’ve hurt people. I’ve made bad decisions. I’ve been selfish. In addition, I haven’t spent sufficient time with God. Why would He want to do anything good for me? I will say that, if you’re a human being, you’re right. Everyone on this earth has made mistakes, made selfish and poor decisions, and has spent less time with their Creator than they should. I know it’s true for me.

Regardless of the negatives of the previous paragraph, we deal with a God who forgives all of those negatives. We deal with a God who loves us more than we can ever fathom. Even though we fail often, He is still waiting for us to ask for great things. What happens when we ask? The Bible says…what man is there among you who, when his son asks for bread will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish will give him a snake? If you then being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him (Matthew 7:9-11)?

So what is it you want? God is not only waiting for you to ask, but He’s waiting to respond and act on your desire. Once again I remind you that nothing is too good for you. Never again should you avoid asking for something because you feel that you don’t deserve it. You are as worthy as anyone to receive the things you desire in life. Instead of giving up on it, ask God for it with the faith that He is more than willing to grant the desires of your heart and provide the abundance of a great life that you are seeking. Know it, and enjoy the blessings : )

A Quick Guide to Manifesting Using the Universal Law of Attraction

June 16, 2013

I found this 4 step formula and felt the need to share. By following these steps, the only thing that will be impossible in your life is failure.

Law of Attraction Tips from Sharon Ballantine

The Universal Law of Attraction at its simplest states that everything, including our thoughts, is energy. An easy way to think about the Universal Law of Attraction is that thoughts become things or whatever you think about and really want, comes about or manifests itself in your life. smiley balls

Energy flows to whatever your attention is on. For example, if you are concentrating hard on a project, you usually find the right resources and people to help you get it done.

Often, it seems to happen by magic. This is the Universal Law of Attraction at work.  The law is always working whether we are consciously aware of it or not.

Four steps to the Universal Law of Attraction

1.      Picture or visualize what you want.

Use all of your senses and all the imagination you can muster to see exactly what it is you want. Dream it, see it, feel…

I Want To Be Like My Dog

June 15, 2013

I am very happy that God made me a human being. We have many more powers and are more taken care of than any other creature on this earth. I wouldn’t want to be anything else.

You may ask…why am I saying I want to be like my dog? There’s one characteristic my dog and most others have that many humans have difficulty accomplishing. That trait…unconditional love. When I come home from work or from being out for a while, my dog comes running to the door with a warm, enthusiastic greeting. It doesn’t matter if she’s tired. It doesn’t matter if she had a rough day. It doesn’t matter if I scolded here the day before, or did not provide a great deal of attention. Regardless, the dog comes running and shows me all the love she can.

I challenge myself and anyone reading to demonstrate the same unconditional love as dogs do. Whether it’s been a rough day, or you’re in a bad mood, or the bank account is low, or someone criticized you, or whatever is bringing you down. Do all you can to love others unconditionally, and with the same sincerity and enthusiasm as a dog that’s happy to see you.

When you demonstrate this type of love, two great things happen. One is that you are more at peace with yourself. After all, we are created to love, and we are commanded by God to do so. The second thing is that when you demonstrate sincere, unconditional love to others, it comes back to you multiplied. It’s no wonder people love dogs so much. You will be loved and adored as well.

Who can you love unconditionally today? Find as many people as you can, and show the same love and enthusiasm towards those people as you can. You and they will be blessed in a major way. I ask that you now excuse me. I need to go pet my dog. Have a wonderful day : )

A Successful Key To Beating The Obstacles

June 13, 2013

Have you ever completed an obstacle course? I always found them fun, yet frustrating at the same time. I had to go around or through several obstacles in order to reach the finish line. I like the challenge of it, though sometimes it seemed a bit long and drawn out. I began to wonder if I would ever make it to the end : )

Isn’t that how we often consider obstacles in life? There are some challenges we find interesting, and we enjoy the opportunities they present. In other cases, we dread obstacles because they keep us from reaching the finish line of our dreams and goals. In some cases, we get so frustrated that we give up before we even come close to reaching those goals.

Many will ask…how can we avoid allowing these obstacles to prevent us from reaching our goals? I found a powerful quote today that I believe holds the key…”obstacles are things a person sees when he takes his eyes off his goal” – Joseph Cossman. The key is to keep your eyes fixed firmly on the goal. When you do this, nothing or no one will be able to stop you from getting where you want to go.

There are many examples of people who refused to let obstacles get in the way. I am a sports lover, and often see athletes that are so determined to win that they play at a level even higher than their normal greatness. You can often see that look in their eyes, and you know nothing or no one is getting in their way of success.

You too will find success if you simply keep focused on the goal. If you do, you won’t even know the obstacles in front of you exist. Even if they linger, you will have little difficulty conquering them.

Many people don’t accomplish their goals because the obstacles they face create doubt and fear. When you remain completely focused on the goal, you don’t leave room for doubt and fear to creep in. Instead, you only leave room for faith and success.

Keep your eyes fixed on the goal, and refuse to take no for an answer. You will see yourself accomplishing more and more success by following this simple formula. Enjoy the blessings : )

It’s On Its Way

June 10, 2013

I had a conversation with a relative the other day. She mentioned that she had a little extra money. As a nice gesture she said she mailed $20 to me, and I can expect to receive it soon.

I was very happy and thankful about this nice gesture! As I thought about it more, it also provided a valuable reminder about faith. In the past, I would pray for something, but at times would lack the confidence that I would receive what I asked for. As a result, I firmly believe I missed out on some of God’s intended blessings.

There are many that are like this today. In many ways, they do all the right things. They pray, maintain positive thoughts, and take action. However, they miss the key ingredient of faith. Instead of focusing on the successful outcome, they worry about how it’s going to happen, or worse, if it’s going to happen. If this is you, there may be some wonderful blessings that you are missing out on.

I challenge you to use the opening example as an inspiration. When you desire something, follow the helpful steps of praying, affirming/visualizing, and taking action. Then think of the realized goal as if someone said they were sending it to you in the mail. It may not be there right away, but you can have the joyful expectation that your blessing is on its way, and the assurance that it will eventually arrive.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t even want the possibility of missing out on any of God’s blessings. I will end with my favorite Scripture verse…whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours (Mark 11:24). Believe your dreams are on their way, and you will see them fulfilled. Enjoy the blessings : )
