An Exercise To Improve Your Ability To Manifest Money

May 16, 2013

Anytime I see an article about manifesting money, I am certainly paying attention! I read one such article by Steve Pavlina the other day, and it was one of the best I’ve ever seen. The information is presented in an easy to follow manner, and it really does help change your mindset about money. As your mindset changes, so do your actions and results.

In the article, the author shares how he taught his ten year old daughter about a money manifesting exercise. They took a walk and had a contest to see who could find the most pennies on the ground. He found several, while his daughter could not find any. He shared that the reason is that he simply knew the pennies were there. It was just a matter of having that faithful mindset and awareness, and knowing that the pennies were there to be found. Through his example, his daughter eventually developed the same mindset and began finding pennies as well. Sometimes she found more than him!

This example has several points. One is that there is an unlimited abundance of pennies and dollars in this world. When you realize that, know that it’s always there, and start looking for it, you manifest more of it. Then your confidence grow, you look for more if it, and find more and more. You just need to maintain this conscious awareness.

I was so impressed with this story that I had to try it for myself. I’ve done it for 4 days, and I will share my results. You tell me if it works or not. For two of the four days, I found 11 cents. Besides finding pennies, I found dimes too. Here’s how this also helps the mindset. I had some doubts the first day, and after a while I hadn’t found anything yet. Doubt is not good for manifesting anything. At that time, I thought about how I really didn’t need any pennies because I had many at home. If I didn’t find any, I could easily go home and have hundreds. Shortly after, I found two coins.

The other days are examples of how sometimes you don’t get exactly what you want, but something better. I was thinking abundance, but found no pennies. Instead, I was led to check a program I was interested in, but didn’t have the extra $20  to invest in it. As I looked at the page, I was told the program was free for an customers of my cell phone carrier. I received a $20 program for free! The other day I didn’t find pennies, but I found a $10 gift card in my mailbox for teacher appreciation.

So what do you think? Does it work? This method does not bring money that magically falls from the sky, and I know 11 cents isn’t much. However, what this experiment has done is change my mindset about money. I feel positive because this is a fun game, and I am winning! As I continue to win, I gain more confidence and positive feelings. I am more aware that abundance is all around me, and I am more willing to notice it and look for it. These are all ways that money is manifested. I strongly recommend you try it. Then as you master the manifestations of pennies, you can move on to bigger and better things. Your mindset will be where it should be to manifest more money into your life.

If you are seeking more money, do this or anything else to shift your mindset to positivity and abundance. You will have to take action, but when you do it will be right and productive. Money isn’t everything and it doesn’t guarantee happiness. However, we all need it, and I believe this is one way that will bring you towards greater abundance. I would love to hear how it helps you, so please share your success stories. Enjoy the blessings : )

Do You Have The Power to Find What Your Are Looking For?

May 15, 2013

The above question is one that I’m sure many people wonder. What do you think? Do you have the power to find what you are looking for?

The message I saw on a poster recently may answer that question for you. I don’t know who wrote it, but it says…”All the wonders you seek in life are deep inside yourself”.

Does that answer your question? Whatever you are looking for already exists. In fact, it is as close to you as it could possibly be…inside of yourself.

You already have what you are looking for. You just need to see it. You may be asking…really? I don’t see it. My bank account still shows a low amount. My relationships are still strained. I’m still not feeling well. Whatever you are not seeing, I completely understand. As human beings, we often base our happiness and make conclusions based on what we see.

When you live in the Spiritual realm, that attitude changes. This is where all things are possible. This is where faith is built, regardless of what we see. Remember, we walk by faith, not by sight. Remember, faith is the confidence of things hoped for, and the assurance of what we don’t see. Live in this definition of faith. When you do, and when you are consciously aware that the power within you is endless, miracles happen. Also realize that the power within you knows what you are looking for and how to achieve it. Ask for Godly guidance and do what you are directed to do.

The bottom line is this. The spiritual power that exists in you also exists in the object or situation of your desire. It is all one and the same. That is why I strongly believe the message of this poster. You have the answers you need. In fact, you already have everything you need as long as you focus on the Godly spirit within you. Keep your focus there, take the necessary steps, and watch the miracles happen. Enjoy the blessings : )

How Is Life Like A Smartphone?

May 14, 2013

Ever since I saw the smartphone for the first time, I have been in love. In my opinion, it is one of the greatest devices ever invented. In the palm of my hand I not only have a phone, but basically a ticket to the world. I get so much use from this device, yet there is so much  more potential that I am not even aware of. If I had greater awareness of what this phone could do, I would be even more amazed than I already am.

The only negative with this device is that it needs to be re-charged every day. On some days, I need to charge it more than once. This can make if difficult to function, especially if I don’t have my charger available.

Sometimes interesting thoughts cross my mind. I realized how the smartphone is very similar to life, especially one that is lived in the Spiritual realm. When you live in the Spirit, the world is at your fingertips. You get so much more from life. Many of us are unaware of the great potential we have. If we had greater awareness of what we could accomplish through the Spirit that is within us, we would be amazed at what life would bring us.

Just like the smartphone, we need to re-charge on a regular basis. When we “plug in” to our power source, our power and capability are completely restored and ready for maximum use. Sometimes we need to re-charge more than once during the day for this to happen. In fact, I will go as far as recommending re-charging as much as possible. When we stay connected to our Source, we are never without power.

When you use your smartphone today, or see someone else who does, think of how life relates. You are a very powerful “device” capable of “bringing the world” to yourself and everyone that comes in contact with you. If you haven’t already, “plug yourself in” to your power Source and be thankful for that mighty power that you are supplied with. It is indeed a gift.

I would write more, but  my smartphone is ringing, and I need to take a call. Enjoy the blessings : )

Why My Mother Is The Best

May 12, 2013

I wrote this post several years ago on a different site. I felt it appropriate to share here, especially because it’s all still true today : ) ……

With this being Mothers Day, I thought of all of the reasons I appreciate my mother so much. Actually, I lied. I cannot think of all of the reasons because there are far too many to consider. However, here are five:

  • Since the day I was born I have known that I am loved.
  • Most of my best personality traits like patience, understanding, and gentleness come from her.
  • I can talk to her about anything and get excellent advice without fear of rejection or judgement. The best part is that, even though she provides the advice, she always leaves it up to me to make the ultimate decision.
  • She is always there for me and the rest of my family. My kids say she’s an excellent “grammy” too.
  • Because she is Mom.

Simply said, mine is the best mother in the world (feel free to dispute this. I hope you think your mother is the best too).

Thanks Mom for all you do and all you are : )

3 Steps To Receiving What You Want

May 11, 2013

Those that know me well would know that I am always looking for better ways to help reach my goals in life. However, as I continue to search, I keep finding the same basic three that every book I read shares in one way or another.

So let’s go back to the basics. Here’s a 3 step process that, when followed, is a great way to bring the success you are seeking:

  1. Ask – There are so many things I’ve missed in life simply because I didn’t ask. People don’t ask because they feel they don’t deserve what they are looking for, or because they believe there is a quota for the amount of blessings they can receive. I know because I believed this at one point. However, this could not be further from the truth. Just because someone else tells you you’re not entitled to what you want doesn’t mean it’s true. And God loves to bless you thousands of times over. The Bible is filled with invitations to ask for what you want, and that God is more than willing to grant your request. Please ask!
  2. Believe – How many times in the Bible does someone who asks with faith receive what they are asking? EVERY TIME! The same thing happens in our world today. You’ve heard the expression that you can have anything you put your mind to, right? Well, putting your mind to it means you are demonstrating the faith that you can have or accomplish it. I’ve shared it many times, but there are two great ways to build your faith. One is to use affirmations, which are words and phrases used over and over again to convince your mind that something is true. The other is visualization, where you envision the success you are seeking, and imagine how your life will be when you have what you want.
  3. Receive – At this point, you’ve done most of what you need to do. Now, it is important to step back and let God do His part. However, it doesn’t mean that you just sit back and do nothing. I believe there are two important parts to this final step. The first is that you allow the good to flow into your life. What I mean by that is that you see yourself as worthy of receiving your desire, and maintain the faith by continually affirming and visualizing.  The second is to take any action you are inspired to take. Start living as if you already have what you want. Start feeling the feelings and being thankful like you would if your wish was already granted. You also need to take any action you believe would get you  closer to accomplishing the goal.

There are two reasons people don’t receive what they want. The main reason is that they simply don’t follow this simple 3-step formula. The other is because God puts the plans on hold only because He has something even better. You can’t go wrong if you follow this formula. Please don’t be afraid to ask, and have the faith to know that all things are possible to those who believe. Take your small steps, and let God do His work. I guarantee you will succeed and live a life of miracles if you follow these simple three steps. It’s happened over and over in my own life. Enjoy the blessings : )

Positive Expectation

May 9, 2013

A while ago, I wrote a post about assuming the answer yes. I discussed how, on behalf of another student, I asked one of my nicer students for a piece of paper out of her notebook. I was so sure she would say yes and provide the paper that I unconsciously found myself with her notebook in my hand, already ripping the piece of paper out before she even said yes.

I apologized to my student, and being the good sport that she is she just laughed it off. However, I learned a very valuable lesson from this experience. This lesson has come to light this week as I read about the subject of expectation. It’s a simple fact that what you expect you receive. It could be good or bad. If you expect to fail you will. If you expect success and great things in your life you will receive them.

In the case of the student’s paper, I expected an affirmative response. I was so sure of it that I immediately acted without even thinking about it. As it turns out, my wish was quickly granted. Success in life is often more complicated than receiving a piece of paper, but the concept is the same for whatever you are looking to achieve. Completely expect that you will accomplish your goal. Expect success so much that you already begin acting towards it. Sometimes the action is automatic, and sometimes it is planned. Either way, when your positive expectation is strong, you will move quickly towards the goal, and you will see results. I believe that the greater the expectation, the quicker the results.

What are you expecting today? I recommend you expect greatness and success. Pray for God’s help, and envision the positive results you seek. The more you see it in your imagination, the more your faith will grow, and your expectations will become more and more positive. It works the other way too. As you see more positive results, you will constantly have positive expectations for even greater results.

I ask again…what are your expectations today? Keep them positive and you will experience greatness in your life. Enjoy the blessings : )

A Breakdown Of What Faith Really Is

May 8, 2013

Every once in a while I like to take words that are important for positive and abundant living, and break them down to their most basic parts. It’s a very helpful exercise. For example, I’ve been concentrating on increasing my faith lately. I decided to break it down, and it is amazing what I came up with. I gladly share this information with you.

I have always been familiar with the Biblical definition of faith, so I start with that. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as the assurance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things unseen. That definition is enough to really make one think, but I took it a step further and was amazed. When I defined the word assurance, this is what I found…A positive declaration intended to give confidence; a promise. It adds…Confidence or certainty in one’s own abilities. These words are definitely encouraging. I took it one step further and defined hopefulness. The simple definition I found was “joyful expectation”.

When I put it all together, it sounds like this. Being confident and certain that the things I joyfully expect will come to pass. I positively declare this as a promise from God.

Wow! When faith is broken down this way, it shed a whole new light on the topic! If you are trying to increase your faith and take it to the next level, I believe you have just found the key. Start with a joyful expectation that the things you desire will come to pass. Then be confident and certain that it will!

I can read some of your minds right now. You want to know how do I do this? One way that works great is to visualize the success you are seeking. Spend time imagining how much better your life will be as if you already have what you desire. See yourself in this new life and live as if it’s already yours. Another suggestion is to pray and meditate whenever you can. This closeness with God always increases your confidence in what you have come to joyfully expect. These are only two ways. If there is anything else that works for you, please do it.

The Bible and today’s society are filled with stories about how great things were accomplished with simple faith. For example, in sports inferior teams sometimes win championships simply because they are confident and expect to win regardless of what the “experts” say. Many miracles happen because people have confidence in God’s promises and expect to see His great work in their lives.

I challenge you today to focus on this definition of faith and live it out. Joyfully expect your goals to be met and your dreams to come true. Be confident that they will come to pass. You’ll be amazed how your faith will grow, and your life will change dramatically. I’ve seen it happen in my own life and in many others. If you have any suggestions about what you do to increase your faith, I encourage you to share. In the meantime, enjoy the blessings of this great day : )

It’s An Emotional Matter

May 7, 2013

One of my main themes on this blog is about using the power of your mind to live the life you want to live. I say it all the time (as do many others) that the more positive your thoughts are, the more positive outcomes you will experience. It’s also great how you can use your God-given free will to deliberately monitor your thoughts and take control of your life.

The problem with this is that it is difficult to monitor your thoughts on a consistent basis. If you are like me, your days get extremely busy and you think many different thoughts. So how can you tell if your are thinking the right thoughts? The answer…drum roll please….is by your emotions. How are you feeling? The answer to that question also answers the one about what you are thinking. When I first began studying the power of the mind and being sure to maintain positive thoughts, I didn’t believe that emotions played a big part. After all, it is difficult even for the happiest person to feel happy every moment of the day. One can’t be expected to be, as negative experiences and difficult obstacles are inevitable for anyone. However, the more I continued to study, the more I realize that, even though we can’t be expected to be perfectly hapy all the time, our emotions are still the best indicator about how we are thinking.

The key with using emotions as your guideline is consistency. Ask yourself..”how am I feeling on a regular basis?” If you are generally feeling sad, frustrated, and negative, it means you have been thinking negatively. As a result, you are likely experiencing generally negative situations, not reaching the goals you have set for yourself and living the life you want. On the other hand, if you are generally feeling good, positive, optimistic, and hopefull, you are thinking those types of thoughts, and most likely enjoying those types of circumstances.

Once again I will say that no one can be expected to be happy all the time, especially if going through a difficult time, like job loss, death of a family member, etc. However, when you monitor your emotions and strive to think the most positive thoughts possible, even these most difficult situations become easier.

Success in life begins in the mind with positive, faithful thoughts. Constantly monitor your emotions to be sure you are thinking those types of thoughts. If you’re feeling good and positive, it means you are on the right track to attract those types of situations in your life. The more positive your thoughts and the more powerful your feelings and emotions, the greater happiness and success you achieve in life. It makes a big difference in life, and for me, sometimes it’s so overwhelmingly positive that it makes me emotional. Enjoy the blessings : )

A Simple Way To Get Ahead…Even If You Don’t Have The Time

May 6, 2013

I find it frustrating sometimes when the business of life’s obligations gets in the way of what I really like to do. My job (both of them), along with yard work and other obligations have prevented me from writing on this site. I also like to read what other bloggers have to say, and have not had time to do that either.

It’s great how, when I need answers to questions, God takes me directly to the source I need. I read an article that talked about this very frustration. How do we beat this endless cycle? I want to do other things in life, yet there are currently no ways around the necessary obligations. There’s simply not enough time to pursue those opportunities.

What I read in the article was something I’ve been told countless times. It’s funny how I’ve also given countless other people this same advice. Here it is…seek first the kingdom of God, and all else will be added unto you. (Matt 6:33). It’s a matter of focus. When you focus on God and His power within you first, all else seems to take care of itself. All of a sudden there is time because the opportunities are presented to you on a silver platter. Things start to happen on their own, and the right situations present themselves as well as the time to pursue them.

If you are feeling that helpless feeling of wondering how to get further ahead, but seem trapped in your current circumstances, I recommend you maintain your focus on your Creator. Let go and let God do His thing. Do your best in your current circumstances and fulfill those obligations, regardless of how “in the way” they are. Focus on God and have faith, and the details will take care of themselves. Then when the opportunity presents itself, act on it and enjoy the success.

I’ve seen the benefits of seeking God first many times in my life. That’s why I often suggest it, and I know that’s why I was reminded again during my difficult period this week. You too can experience the benefits of seeking God first in your life. You’ll see how much more He can accomplish than you, and how the time you are missing all of a sudden becomes available for you to prosper and succeed. I promise! Enjoy the blessings : )

Who Do You Think You Are?

May 2, 2013

I was reminded the other day of a conversation I had with someone at a part time job I worked at. We talked about Christianity and our confidence in the goodness and power of God. The main theme of the conversation for each of us was “I know who I am”. What we meant is that we knew we were beautiful, powerful, and awesome creations of our God.

I didn’t enjoy this job very much. It was a job I was doing in addition to my teaching job in order to make some extra money to pay off our mountain of debt. It was rather insulting when someone half my age and education level would look down on me because I didn’t do this petty job as well as they did. Each time my friend and I would have a negative experience at this job, we always had our faithful line to fall back on. We would look at each other and say, “I know who I am.”

Do you really know who you are? I’m sure you know your name and all of your bad habits. But have you ever looked beyond that and learned who you really are? Whether you believe it or not, you are a direct creation of the God of the universe. Of the God who created everything. Better yet, His spirit dwells in you and is a part of you.

Do you think God would ever give up on something He created and is a part of? I don’t think so. I read a quote from a website that says, “You are part of the infinite ocean of pure potential where all things are possible. You also are an Energy Being, an individualized vibration of God”. (http://www.essential-practices.com/remember.html)

With God, all things are possible. This power of all possibility is part of you. Knowing this, you can do the following two things to dramatically alter your life:

1. Focus on this connection as much as possible. Whether things are going smoothly, or are difficult, remember that you are a divine creation, and part of that endless power and energy.

2. Begin thinking like the Godly spirit that is within you. God thinks in terms of love, service, power, and endless possibility. Act in this Godly way, and see things from this perspective. Instead of procrastinating because of fear, you will take inspired action to achieve your goals and help others achieve theirs. Instead of going against the flow in your job, finances, relationships, etc., you will go with the flow of the Spirit and be carried to the place where you can serve and do the things to turn your life from bad to good, or good to great.

I will ask you again…who are you? Do you see yourself as inferior and without the faith to live your dream life? Or are you a person who knows the Godly power within you and thinks on its wavelength to create greatness in life? I’ve learned from experience that the second option is best. Do I still have disappointments and defeats? Of course I do. However, I get over them much quicker because I know my Creator is more than ready to pick me up and help me get going again. That power is mine. I know who I am : )
